Black & White Wedding Inspiration | Wednesday Wisdom

Wednesday, 27 February, 2013

As you all know, black and white is classic, chic, and striking.  This color combo has always been a wedding color palette that never really goes away – always there for the brides looking for the ultimate timeless feel.  While we have always had a handful of brides calling on this duo year after year, we are now seeing a BIG resurgence of black & white palettes in a huge way!  And not just for the classic, traditional bride either.  We are seeing it in edgy contemporary themes, Victorian vintage themes, whimsical graphic themes, and everything in between!  This palette is always a stunner and truly one of the most versatile pairings possible.  Our trend setters at Culinary Crafts saw this coming and were lucky enough to work with Riehl Events, Cake-A-Licious, Salt Lake/Park City Bride & Groom Magazine, Wildflower Linens, Distinctive Inscriptions, and Barrett Doran Photgraphy to create a dynamic and GORGEOUS sweet table for the magazine’s 2012 issue.  So, armed with photos of that eye candy, I created this inspiration board with divine black and white details and a to-die-for Dior wedding gown to show you just how fun, different, and beautiful this palette can be! Happy planning everyone!

Tangerine Tango & Cool Grey Inspiration Board | Trendy Tuesday

Tuesday, 10 April, 2012

Today, I want to show you all one of my FAVORITE colors, which happens to also be one of the pantone colors of the year for 2012: Tangerine Tango!  Pair this with one of Holly Fowler’s picks for what’s hot – cool grey – and you have a stylish, modern, and GORGEOUS color palette!  I’ve taken the liberty to create an inspiration palette for a bold (yet elegant) bride!  The orange wedding dress is amazing, by the way – take a look!

I love the vibrance of the orange and the way the greys balance it out just perfectly, making the palette pop without being too overwhelming.  So pretty!  I hope this inspires you to use some of these bold ideas in your wedding!  Happy planning everyone!

Trendy Tuesday: Pantone Inspiration Board

Tuesday, 1 November, 2011

Today, I’d like to share an inspiration board I came up with using some of the 2012 Pantone Fashion Colors!  I loved the combination of the bright yellow Solar Power, the cool and calm turquoise Cockatoo, and the natural feel of the taupe Starfish.  Together, they make a fun and poppy mix with just a hint of the natural and organic.  Take a look!

Trendy Tuesday: Pantone Fashion Color Report Spring 2012

Tuesday, 27 September, 2011

Pantone, the world’s leading expert in all things to do with color, just released their 2012 Fashion Color Report.  What does that mean?  Well, you can count on seeing these ten colors popping up on the runways and throughout fashion in the spring season – which includes wedding palettes and things like bridesmaid dresses!  This collection is definitely rooted in the extremes of nature – from the soothing neutrals of Starfish and Driftwood to the vibrant pop of Solar Power and Tangerine Tango – there is definitely something for every taste.  I, for one, am super excited to see what is in store!  I am loving pretty much every color in this report.   Also, for you iPad users, something else pretty exciting from Pantone and The Dessy Group – the myPantone Wedding Styleboard!  This tool allows you pick your wedding colors and then design a board including apparel and accessories to match.  Its your very own inspiration board generator!  Happy planning readers!

Favorite Finds Friday: Winter Wedding Inspiration Board

Saturday, 17 September, 2011

So, this Favorite Friday Finds is one day late!  I’m so sorry, my dear readers!  But, even though its belated, this gem of an inspiration board is worth the wait!  This palette of icy pinks, dove grey, and hint of elegant pearl is a perfect fit for a winter wedding!  I envision a romantic, cozy, and intimate reception with toasty fireplaces and snow flurries showing in the windows to the outdoors.  So pretty! My absolute favorite part of the board is the signature drink that fits the palette to a ‘t’.  Mercury accented glasses pull in the greys, while a luscious pink concoction adds the pink of the palette.  To top it off, the smoky clouds add the romantic pearl feel – but even more amazing would be a spun sugar garnish instead.  Volia!  You have a signature drink that will definitely personalize your wedding and set it apart.  Culinary Crafts LOVES designing these unique drinks and I think it is such a special touch!

Happy planning readers!

The Winner!

Monday, 9 May, 2011

I am happy to unveil the winning Inspiration Board from our contest sponsored by our partners at Diamond Rental!  We really loved the simple elegance of the fresh green and earth toned color palette.  Excellent job Haley!  Here’s a little bit about her inspiration:

“For years now, I have dreamed of having my wedding in my parent’s yard. It is one of the most beautiful places I know – complete with an iron gazebo with swings overlooking a pond that has three small waterfalls. Its meandering stone pathways that lead to open expanses of green grass and unique variety of trees make it a magical place! The colors I have chosen are green, dark brown and ivory. When I told my mom what my colors were and that I wanted to have my reception outside, she said, ‘Great! We have green grass and green trees and lots of chocolate brown dirt in the flower beds!’ I am happy that my colors will be an extension of the beauty of the yard. My plan is to dress my eight bridesmaids in chocolate brown and my maid of honor in green. My own gown is ivory and in it, I turn into a princess! I want the reception to be simple, yet elegant and I want my guests to feel as if they can linger and chat and enjoy each other and the yard. I plan on using ivory linens with green table toppers and beautiful glass hurricane lamps with candles on each table. Since my reception will be on a summer evening, my dream is to serve gelato in sugar cones and have guests hold sparklers over the heads of my husband and I on our send-off. I want a simple three-tiered cake with chocolate brown ribbon on each tier and a flower girl dressed in ivory waking around handing out wrapped candies to guests.  I have decided to only serve desserts at my reception – along with the gelato, I want to serve small finger desserts and fruit – my only criteria is that they be beautiful and delicious! I can hardly wait to marry my best friend and love of my life and I look forward to a beautiful dream-come-true reception in my own back yard!”

Thank you so much Haley and congratulations!  We are so happy for you and your husband-to-be!
