NYE Wedding At The Tasting Room | Wednesday Wisdom

Tuesday, 16 April, 2013

I am SO excited to share this whimsically wonderful event with you that was held at Culinary Crafts’s very own Tasting Room!  We were so thrilled to be a part of this wedding, which was held on New Year’s Eve, and loved, loved, loved the design that the couple chose to make the space their own.  I also loved the use of The Tasting Room for their ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception (complete with a New Year’s countdown, of course!).  It really showed off just how versatile our venue can be!  Check it out!

Love these glitzy shoes!  Perfect for a New Year’s party/wedding!

Downtown Salt Lake City is chock FULL of cool and urban locales for you and your honey to get some couple shots.  All within a short jaunt of The Tasting Room, I might add!

We were just smitten with the handmade garlands that created a “curtain” for the windows.  So fun and colorful, they really set the stage for this one-of-a-kind wedding.

Not only did this couple have GORGEOUS floral bouquets and boutonnieres, but I loved their non-traditional centerpieces with paper airplanes, succulents, and cosmos – all with a touch of sparkle!

This backdrop really put the focus on the ceremony and made for a fun background during the wedding.  Plus the handmade aisle “runner” was super cute too!

This wedding party was stylin’!  Loved the yellow/grey palette for the guys and the gorgeous greys for the gals, who were able to choose a style that suited them best.  Plus, the bride’s lace headband and bow detail on her dress was such a great way to make the look her own.

Yum!  No guest was left hungry with all of the butler-passed hors d’oeuvres about!  My favorite?  The Utah Apples with Utah’s Own Beehive Cheese‘s Barely Buzzed Cheddar.

Loved this chic (and DELICIOUS!) buffet with crab cakes, house made artisan breads, vegetable crudite, caprese salad, and Teriyaki chicken skewers, to name a few of the offerings.  Mmmm….

How cute is this cake?  Love the topper and the golden teacups they used as the cake plate base.  Seriously, these two are SO creative and I love their handmade touches!

After the guests got their fill of dinner, the dessert buffet came out – complete with wedding cake, fresh fruit, vanilla custard with fresh berries and a popcorn bar!  LOVE the popcorn bar!

This wedding was a blast and we are so happy to have been able not only to cater it, but to host it at The Tasting Room!  Congrats to Michelle & Charlie!  Also, if you are thinking The Tasting Room would be perfect for you, check out our website for more details!  Happy planning everyone!

80s Party Extravaganza! | Food Theory Thursday

Thursday, 27 December, 2012

It’s almost time to hit the fantastic New Year’s Eve parties that are bound to be about in this coming week, and with that in mind, I thought this over-the-top 80s party was a PERFECT inspiration for any of you still looking for party ideas!  We at Culinary Crafts love any excuse to have a party and if you are going to throw one at all, why not do it to the nines?  Well, this party TOTALLY did just that.  A DeLorean, Mr. T (yes, the REAL Mr. T), an 80s dance party, and massive amounts of DELICIOUS food?  Well, that, my friends, is how you throw the ultimate 80s bash!  Check it out!

Not only did the band keep everyone dancin’ on the ceiling, but a comedy routine from Mr. T was the ultimate 80s surprise.  I pity the fool who wasn’t at this party!  (Sorry, I couldn’t resist!)

Two of the eight (yes, eight!) action stations for the hungry dudes and dudettes – featuring the Asian Short Ribs Station and the Southwest Grill Station!  Yum!

Love that the guests went all out!  It really takes the party to the next level when everyone gets into the spirit of the theme.

Another one of our fantastic action stations – this one, the Chinese Sizzling Wok Station – was a DEFINITE crowd favorite.

Love that the butler-passed popcorn and treats were in the radical 80s colors seen throughout the space!  So fun!

We also brought in 2 ring of fire stations with our signature Flaming Donuts topped off with house made Eggnog gelato!  Seriously, my favorite station EVER.

As you can tell, this party was completely rad!  But, you don’t have to go this over the top to have a fun and festive party of your own!  Remember to mix food stations throughout your space to keep people mingling and play upbeat music that will put everyone in a party mood.  Also, if you are working with a themed party, its all in the details!  Little things like keeping treats in a color palette or creating signage that harkens back to the theme will have a big impact – but above all, remember to have fun!  It’s a party after all!  Happy celebrating, everyone!
