Rustic Ranch Wedding Part 3 | Food Theory Thursday

Thursday, 14 February, 2013

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!  Today, we have Part 3 of our Rustic Ranch beauty of a wedding and I just know you are going to love it!  Today, we are focusing on the food and drink, which I must say, is ALWAYS my favorite part of the day!  I warn you, viewing these images might leave you hungry!  Check it out!

This canoe of vintage style soda bottles was one of my favorite details of the year.  Whimsical and functional, guests DEFINITELY loved this special touch.

We also appreciated their nod to Utah’s very own High West Distillery!  The couple chose to make their signature High West Lemonade their signature cocktail – which is DELCIOUS, I must say!

The couple chose so many appetizers to really get their guests appetites going!  Sweet Potato Fries with Utah Fry Sauce, Mini Cordon Bleus, Tortilla Chips with Avocado and Corn Salsa, Utah Smoked Trout Crostini, and Chipotle Shrimp with Cumin Spiced Cream were some of the offerings.  So delicious!

The bride chose to create a family style menu for her guests which is always a great idea with these long tables which allow people to pass and share the dishes easily!  Definitely one of our favorite dining style for sure!

Candy buffets are always a fun addition, especially when the couple picks their favorites to share!

Not only did the couple create a fun candy station, but they had a s’mores station, and bundt cakes instead of traditional wedding cake for their guests to enjoy!

This event was so much fun and we just LOVED all of the BEAUTIFUL details, the GORGEOUS venue, and FANTASTIC food that came together to make this wedding one of a kind – definitely not one to be forgotten any time soon!  Thank you so much to Nikki and Mike for letting us share in this extraordinary day!  Happy planning everyone!

Rustic Ranch Wedding Part 2 | Wednesday Wisdom

Wednesday, 13 February, 2013

Today is Part 2 of this FABULOUS rustic ranch wedding – and its all about the details!  This wedding was chock full of so many pretty and fun details and they really left no piece untouched.  From the signage, to the flowers, to the setup, everything had a personal, extra-special touch which our friends at Scenemakers designed and carried out flawlessly!  Now, on to the pictures!

This couple really wanted to make this event about creating a new family, so they chose to do away with the traditional guest seating of Bride or Groom’s side and allow the guests to sit where ever they liked by posting the sign “Choose a Seat, Not a Side” with GORGEOUS hand calligraphy.  We also loved the lavender pouches that gave for their ceremony recessional toss.  So fun!

One of the best ways to maintain a consistent design feel is when a couple uses their wedding monogram, logo, or personal design throughout the event.  The couple’s craved heart logo was seen on the menus, invitations, custom wood signage, seating cards, and blanket favors – which was FABULOUS!  (And a special shout out to Ann Elizabeth Design for all of the FANTASTIC paper goods she created!  So beautiful!)

This romantic and airy seating card setup was rustic and beautiful.  We loved Ann Elizabeth‘s seating card tags and how Scenemakers used the aspens to create the framework for the display!

The flowers were such vibrant and bold palette but were balanced but the neutral and burlap tones throughout.  We also loved that every floral creation was its own design.  This made for a visually interesting event that was anything but boring!

The couple chose to give all of their guests custom blankets with their wedding logo as a memorable and useable favor.  The twine tie and fabric tag were a great way to “wrap” the favors too!

Red Cliff Ranch‘s barn created a cozy and intimate dining space, which is taken up a notch by the long wooden tables which create a real sense of family and conversation.  Love!  Plus, the couple’s Mason jar wine glasses and the elegant lavender tied ribbon balanced the whimsical with the classic – perfect for this couple!

Nikki and Mike are such a perfect couple and we were blown away by the gorgeousness of this event!  When Red Cliff Ranch, Scenemakers, Ann Elizabeth, Culinary Crafts join forces for a fabulous bride, magic is made!  This event was so much fun and we just LOVED all of the beautiful details that came together to make this wedding one of a kind – definitely not one to be forgotten any time soon!  Thank you so much to Nikki and Mike for letting us share in this extraordinary day!  Remember, we have one more post with the fantastic food from this event!  You definitely don’t want to miss it!

Artful Destination Wedding | Wednesday Wisdom

Wednesday, 2 May, 2012

Today I have a GORGEOUS destination wedding for you!  Held at the Kimball Art Center in Park City and photographed beautifully by Alixann Loosle Photography, this wedding ceremony was stunning!  Simple, understated, and brimming with elegant touches, we loved the pre-ceremony mingling with hors d’oeuvres (provided by yours truly) and the intimate ceremony that followed.  Check it out!

What a gorgeous wedding ceremony and such a stunning couple!!!  We loved the idea of using a pre-ceremony ‘reception’ for the guests to grab a bite to eat and mingle with each other while also letting the bride and groom say ‘hellos’ to their closest family and friends before their nuptials!  Especially in the case of a destination wedding where people will be flying in – you definitely want to have time to visit with everyone.  Thank you to Alixann Loosle for sharing these photographs (you can see more from this wedding here) and thank you to Carly and Matt for letting us be a part of such a perfect day!  Happy planning everyone!

Newpark Hotel | Wednesday Wisdom

Wednesday, 18 April, 2012

Today we wanted to give a little shout out to one of our favorite venues/resorts in Park City – The Newpark Resort and Hotel!  This gem is located right next door to the Swaner Eco Center (which is also fab) and boasts beautiful rooms, fabulous decor, and is close to everything in Park City!  Plus, they incorporated a lot of green design throughout, which we love, and really focused on make the space feel at one with the beauty of the nature that surrounds them.  I’d say they definitely succeeded!  Take a look!

What a gorgeous place to host an event or just to get away for a stay-cation!  Plus, some of the rooms even have their own private hot tubs, which after a long day skiing or hiking in the Park City mountains sounds like a welcome treat!  Happy adventuring everyone!

Food Theory Thursday: High West Distillery

Thursday, 29 September, 2011

Today on Food Theory Thursday, I’d like to feature a local restaurant/distillery in Park City, Utah!  One of our favorite local vendors is High West Distillery and we LOVE to showcase their whiskeys and vodkas at our events!  Our out of town guests (and even in town guests, come to think of it) rave about our signature cocktails every single time we incorporate one of their fabulous spirits.  But, High West Distillery not only makes the most high quality and highest caliber whiskeys and vodkas, but they have insanely delicious food at their restaurant to boot!  One of the reasons I like them (besides that they are local and such a fabulous vendor partner) is that they work with local farms for some of their highly crafted dishes – just like Culinary Crafts!  They definitely have comfort foods for those who want the familiar like the Still House Mac N’ Cheese, High West Burger, and the Utah Ballard Farms Pulled Pork.  But for those looking for something a little different, there’s the House Charcuterie, Black Coffee & Bourbon Glazed Cod, or the Idaho Elk & Chantrelle Mushrooms.  Yum!  They even have a whiskey pairing menu, so you can try a little bit of everything – with the whiskeys to match.  They also have a stellar menu of carefully crafted cocktails, of which I’ve selected a couple to share with you!  Check it out!

All of those sound truly delicious!  Thank you High West for sharing these recipes (and there’s a bunch more on their website) and taking such care in both your food and drink creations!

All of the recipes and images used are from High West Distillery‘s website

New Venue: Blue Sky Ranch

Tuesday, 24 August, 2010

We here at Culinary Crafts are always looking for new and outstanding places to include on our venue list and today I’d like to showcase our newest addition:  Blue Sky Ranch!  Kaleb, Mary, Rachel, and Ryan took a trip up there and here’s what Rachel had to say:

“We had the opportunity to visit a brand new venue just recently.  Blue Sky Ranch features a hilltop yurt, a pond, horseback riding and hiking trails, a horse arena, and a cabin bar on top of a mountain!  Not only is it perfect for company retreats and team building exercises, the arena can seat up to 400 guests to accommodate a wedding or a holiday dinner.  Check out these photos from our visit.  We love Blue Sky and cannot wait to begin hosting events there…”

Here are some photos:

Ryan, Mary, Rachel, and Kaleb standing in front the rowing pond, just beyond the Yurt.  So picturesque!

Gorgeous scenery and the Yurt.  The Yurt can host up to 30 guests for a company meeting or intimate dinner.  How fun!

What a unique place!  This is the mountain top bar, all within this rustic cabin.

Aren’t the horses beautiful?  Horseback trail rides are available!

This is the view from the mountain top bar area.  I wouldn’t mind hanging out there all day!  Lucky Mary!

This is the horse arena…  Its still in it’s construction phase, but what a fantastic place for large events!  We can’t wait to start hosting events here…

Simply GORGEOUS!  What an amazing and incredible venue and we are so proud to partner with them!
