Ranch Chic Wedding, Part 1 | Wednesday Wisdom

Wednesday, 8 May, 2013

Today, I have another STUNNING wedding from last year that we just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.  This wedding was packed full with so much loveliness, that I need to split it up into 3 more manageable morsels.  Today – the venue!  This ranch chic wedding was held at the High Star Ranch in Kamas, Utah and it is simply a perfect picturesque balance of rustic elements and natural beauty.  The couple chose to host their wedding here to show their out of town guests the splendor of the Utah mountains, but they didn’t stop there.  The decor and food definitely took this wedding from pretty to GORGEOUS.  Seriously, so awesome, but lets start with the venue which set the scene for this amazing day.  Check it out!

HoversonVenue

The heavenly skies set off the lush mountain views perfectly.  The High Star Ranch is a one-of-a-kind venue that we can’t get enough of!

HoversonVenue2

We loved the sprawling layout of this event complete with a lounge area, dinner tables, multiple action stations, oyster shack, bean bag toss, and dance floor – the guest had plenty to see and do!

HoversonVenue3

Isn’t this just the most beautiful ceremony location?  A babbling brook, enormous shade tree, the base of a mountain – all together, just PERFECT!  We loved the way this ceremony set the tone for this gorgeous day.

HoversonVenue5

Aren’t these tables amazing?  We’ll show you more of the pretty details, but we loved the natural color palette with the bright citrus pops.  A lovely combination for this mountain setting.  Plus the barn is hands down one of my favorite spaces!  Love the strung lights, rough hewn beams, and the character of it.  Just a great addition to this beautiful venue!

HoversonVenue4

Don’t you just love this place?  I can’t wait to show you more from this wedding – because, believe me, it gets SO much better!  Stay tuned everyone!  Happy planning!

2013 Trend Report: Gold N Glam! | Trendy Tuesday

Tuesday, 26 March, 2013

Culinary Crafts, wedding catering | BrideAccess

2013 Trend Report: One of the newest trends is definitely the “Gold ‘n Glam” feel that harkens back to the classic novel, “The Great Gatsby” – even more so with all eyes on the upcoming film set to release soon!  This trend is all about luxe fabrics, decadent details, and liberal use of gold!  We are loving that gold is back in and the Gatsby trend is making full use of its beauty in a big way!  This trend is for the most glamorous of brides or hosts who are wanting to create a feel of everlasting elegance, pure sophistication, and an air of grandeur – so you know I love it!  We at Culinary Crafts love to carry this theme not only from decor but into the food as well!  For this inspiration shoot we envisioned the guests being greeted by an impeccably dressed waiter who would serve them Oysters on the Half Shelf topped with Black Sturgeon Caviar and chilled Champagne.  From there, the guests were asked to be seated for the plated dinner service which started with the fresh flavors of unadorned lump crab and bell pepper duxelle combine with a bite of heirloom cherry tomato to start and followed with a rich and decadent Butternut Squash soup.  To finish the meal, we carry the gold onto the dessert offerings with edible gold-leaf atop the petite black ganache cakes and a gorgeous golden wedding cake with fabulous detailing.  A perfectly gorgeous and truly glamorous event from start to finish!

European Street Market Wedding | Trendy Tuesday

Tuesday, 26 February, 2013

Today, we have a totally different kind of wedding to show you!  This beautiful backyard wedding was a first for Culinary Crafts – which after decades in the industry is saying something! The blushing bride, Maria, had spent several years of her young life living in Europe with her family and she really wanted her wedding to be an experience for every guest that harkened back to that setting.  Her wish was that we would create a feeling of the European lifestyle so it was like their family and friends had taken a trip there with the happy couple – and we were totally excited to help her with that!  It was decided that the backyard would be transformed into a series of European street market stands with an authentic fresh fruit and vegetable stand, a deli market sandwich stand, an apple beer and brat stand, a pomme frites stand, flaming crepe Suzette action stand, Italian gelato cart, and French macaron favors!  So amazing!  Take a look!

The casual and low-key feeling of strolling the markets were definitely carried throughout the event, especially with the blue gingham table linens and fresh flowers that you definitely would see being sold admist the food vendors in Europe.  We loved the laid back and easy beauty of this wedding!

The happy couple chose to create really handmade, whimsical signage that had a truly European flair.  We also loved the bride’s simple floral headdress. So delicate and pretty!

To further create the sense of the streets of Europe, these street signs were created directing guest to the food “vendors”!  SO cute.  We also collected fruit and vegetable boxes to display the crudite and fruits so it looked like a true fruit and vegetable stand!

The deli market stand served freshly made sandwiches that our staff prepared in front of the guests.  My favorite?  The Italian Sausage and Salami baguette with fresh basil and tomato.  YUM!!!

Isn’t this signage fun?  We loved the grab and go pomme frites stand too.

The German Brat stand served up Apple Beer and Brats plus any topping you could dream of. Definitely a crowd favorite!

Their cake was simply adorned with fresh berries and we LOVED the impact it made.  The ripened berries looked stunning against the white buttercream.  Simple and GORGEOUS.  And it that wasn’t enough, the guests also had Italian Gelato, Flaming crepe Suzette, and French Macarons to sait their sweet tooth!

This wedding was truly one-of-a-kind!  We were so happy to have been able to create this experience for such a lovely couple and charming family!  Remember, creating an event that is truly about you and your husband to be is always the best way to have a memorable event.  Whether you focus on a life-changing experience, a shared passion, or just fill it with the people and things that you love, you’ll always have an AMAZING wedding day because it shows the love between you and your beloved.  Happy planning everyone!

Elegant Emerald | Favorite Finds Friday

Friday, 8 February, 2013

Every year we anxiously await Pantone’s release of the Color of the Year, and recently, the announcement we were all waiting for was released!  So as we bid adieu to last year’s winner, Honeysuckle, we welcome the bold and beautiful Emerald to the stage!  I love this color and its ability to be at home in a wide variety of styles.  It also can pair well with TONS of colors.  Maybe white, gold, and emerald for a winter wedding?  Emerald and pale grey or emerald and pink for spring?  Emerald and orange accent for a vibrant and bold summer wedding?  Yes, yes, and yes!  Today, I created an inspiration board that was really just all about letting Emerald sing.  Balanced with simple white and accent with hints of black or aqua, this elegant and refined palette is perfect for an understated and classic celebration.  Just so PRETTY!  I just can’t wait to see emerald in this year’s upcoming weddings!  Happy weekend everyone!

Tuesday, 22 January, 2013

Hi all!  Today, in keeping with our theme of releasing all of the GORGEOUS feature weddings we were involved in in the FANTASTIC local bridal magazines, we have another beauty for you today from Utah Valley Bride Magazine!  This wedding was full of dreamy, pretty details and the ever talented Alixann Loosle captured the feel just perfectly!  Check it out!

This is the BEAUTIFUL Utah Valley Bride layout!  We just had to show you more, from Alixann Loosle’s blog, on this stunning day!

We loved the natural and organic beauty of the tables and the neutral hues with pops of pink were PERFECT!

So many dainty and perfect touches!  The lace embellishment of the bride’s dress, the simple floral headpiece, pine sprig favors, and a vintage dresser cake display were understated yet dynamic.

The bridesmaids all wore matching hues, but picked a dress to suit their personal style – definitely a trend we are LOVING!

The clean lines of the bride and groom’s monogram on the head table was a delightful surprise – especially amongst the super feminine and natural elements throughout.

We wish all the best to Tregan and Landon!  It was such a spectacular day and we are so thankful to Utah Valley Bride for sharing it with all of you!  Also, more kudos to Alixann for the GORGEOUS coverage of the day!  Stay tuned for more from the pages more magazines everyone!  We just can’t wait!

Hot Chocolate Bar | Wednesday Wisdom

Wednesday, 9 January, 2013

One of our favorite winter wedding trends is DEFINITELY the Hot Chocolate Bar.  This beautifully chic station we set up for Taylor and James’s December nuptials was a smashing (and GORGEOUS) success! Here are a few words about it from the BEAUTIFUL bride: “Hot chocolate is one of my favorite drinks and I can honestly say the hot chocolate at my wedding is the best I have ever had. [Culinary Crafts] presented it beautifully with flakes of milk and white chocolate to accent the drink and they even provided whipped cream and cinnamon to top it off. Many of my guests commented on how fantastic the chocolate-y drink was and my husband and I agreed.”

How fun and DELICIOUS!  We also loved that Taylor and James used their hot chocolate offerings as the toasting beverage for their winter wedding – so fun and unique!  There is also no end to the creative add-ins and toppings you can have as well!  Peppermint candies, caramels, homemade flavored marshmallows, coconut, toffee, sea salt, candied ginger, cinnamon, whipped cream – seriously – there are SO many ideas you could come up with!  Happy planning everyone!  And congrats to Taylor and James!  We loved being a part of your perfect day!!!

A Gorgeous, Elegant Wedding | Wednesday Wisdom

Wednesday, 5 December, 2012

When a bride wants a truly elegant wedding, there is no place like the McCune Mansion.  Lina and Gideon’s stunning wedding was a dream and a perfect fit for the elegance and beauty of the McCune.  The bright palette of turquoise, pink, and orange with beautiful burnished gold accents was simply AMAZING and we could resist showing you some photos of the event!  Check it out!

I love, love, LOVE the gorgeous table linens, rosette chair ties, gold chairs, gold flatware, gold-rimmed goblets…  Did I mention the GOLD?!

Lina and Gideon’s wedding was amazing and really showcased how the McCune Mansion was able to accommodate a large guest count for dinner by setting up buffets and seating both inside and outside.  I loved the multiple buffets and how gorgeous their entire look was whether it was outside in the Mansion’s immaculate garden or inside with the amazingly appointed rooms!

Don’t let the word “buffet” fool you – this dinner was TO DIE FOR and elegantly arranged for Lina and Gideon’s guests.  Offerings included Herb-Crusted Prime Rib with Horseradish Cream Sauce, Teriyaki Hawaiian Butter Fish,  Crispy Fresh Vegetable Orzo Pasta Salad, Seared Asparagus with Lemon Butter and Parmesan Curls, Asiago Polenta, and our signature House Made Breads.  SO YUMMY!

Guests finished the eventing with our new Flaming Krispy Kreme Donut Station, which were served with our House-Made Vanilla Gelato and Traditional Churros served with House-Made Chocolate Gelato.  True delicious decandance!

Gorgeous!  We really love the way people are using gold to accent so many different styles.  Gone are the days when gold signified stuffy and traditional and we welcome the new varying gold shades in everything from rustic chic to this poppy, colorful affair!  Remember, gold is a wonderful way to add a sense of elegance and refinement to your wedding, but it doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with it too!  Happy planning everyone!
