Friday Instagram of the Week!

By

Today's Instagram of the Week comes from Utah Valley University's Development & Alumni Relations Department (a.k.a. @UVUgiving)!  They posted this AWESOME photo of a presentation at the UVU Donor Appreciation Banquet where Culinary Crafts collaborated with the Culinary Arts program to showcase some of the dishes they created. Besides enjoying the amazing food, guests were given recipes and "how-to" guides so they could make the delicious dishes at home!

This was SUCH a fun event, and we were so blessed to be able to share this with many of our staff members who who are current UVU students or past alumni. Such an amazing evening! Thank you again for sharing, @UVUgifting!

Remember, for your chance to be next week's Instagram of the Week, tag us at @culinarycrafts or add the hashtag #culinarycrafts to your posts and check back to see who is chosen next!  Happy weekend, everyone!

By

PopUp_April22_1 Culinary Crafts is SO EXCITED for our next Pop Up Restaurant!  We are happy to be partnering with Wasatch Community Gardens for a very special “pop-up” restaurant in celebration of Earth Day on April 22nd, 2016.  And, we are hosting it at The Falls Event Center venue in Salt Lake City, which we are thrilled to show off to all of you! PopUp_April22_2 Our 6-course menu has been created especially for this Pop-Up and will feature many locally sourced items, as well as a few surprises! This unique feast will only be offered for one remarkable evening - The restaurant pops up for a night and then disappears, offering a once-in-a-lifetime experience.  (You can get your tickets here.)  Another bonus?  Wasatch Community Gardens will receive a portion of the event proceeds.  We love that their mission is a perfect match for the importance of Earth Day as well as the importance of fresh and delicious food! Culinary Crafts’s Holiday Gift!

By

Hopefully I'm not ruining the surprise for anyone at this point, but I am SO excited to share Culinary Crafts's holiday gift with everyone!  Each year, we choose a gift of appreciation for our ever-so-valued friends and vendor partners.  This year, we did something a little different, but we think it really showed how much we adore you all!  Check it out! CC_Holiday As an extra special touch, we chose to use a local company called PigeonShip to hand deliver these gift boxes to everyone.  This is really such a great way to add a personal touch to your deliveries. CC_Holiday2 Good things come in small packages is certainly true of this gift - Keep reading to see the surprise... CC_Holiday3 And, because we can't go without adding a sweet treat, we made handcrafted Pecan Rolls for every gift box.  Yum! CC_Holiday4 Last, but certainly not least, the big gift in the small package!  Each one of the recipients received a gift certificate for themselves and a guest to attend one of  Culinary Crafts's AMAZING Pop Up Restaurants!  These Pop Up Restaurants are easily one of our favorite new facets of Culinary Crafts and we wanted to share the experience with our friends and vendors!  We are so excited to see all of your wonderful faces at our Pop Ups in the coming year!  Happy holidays, everyone! Pop Up Restaurant Surprise Giveaway!

By

We here at Culinary Crafts absolutely LOVE our Pop Up Restaurant series.  It is such a wonderful event which allows us to create truly one-of-a-kind dining experiences, which we love.  For our most recent dinner at The Tasting Room in Salt Lake City , our very own Mary Crafts-Homer sought to give away a pair of tickets to an unsuspecting couple - and we got it all on video!  Check it out! It was so much fun to capture their reaction and also re-live this amazing menu again!  I'm sure we will be announcing more Pop Up Restaurant dates soon, so stay tuned!  Happy dining, everyone! United Way’s 19th Annual Day of Caring!

By

We are happy to announce that yesterday was United Way's 19th annual Day of Caring!  And, as usual, our very own Mary Craft-Homer and other members of Culinary Crafts joined in and served the community!  It started out at LaVell Edwards Stadium where they served about 1000 volunteers breakfast before their community service projects began.  From there, the Culinary Crafts Team, along with the Women In Philanthropy (another FANTASTIC organization that Mary is involved in and passionate about), headed to Mountainland Head Start.  The Head Start students and their parents were invited to "A Day of Play".  Culinary Crafts's team members and the Women In Philanthropy taught the families how to play, keep the kids engaged and learning, how to make toys, and even made superhero capes and Woody the Cowboy vests!  How awesome!

In a former life, Mary actually was a parole officer/social worker and dealt with many children who had gone down a bad road that paved the way for their adult lives.  Mary was often saddened that it seemed that she had come into their lives too late and there was not a whole she could do to put them on a better path.  Now, Mary has devoted much of her community service time to babies, parents, and young children where she can make a difference in these children's' lives while they are young.  Mary is truly a remarkable woman and inspires us all to give more to our communities through her example!  We would love it if you, our readers, would be inspired to help out and do service in your own community.  Pass the love, compassion, and caring along this day and in all the days to come!  Thank you United Way for inspiring us all!

Exciting News!

By

Some excellent news from the wonderful Mary Crafts!  She has accepted an invitation from the Salt Lake Convention and Visitors Bureau to become a member of the Board of Trustees.  This is the first time a caterer has been invited to be on the Trustee Board and we are so proud!  There is no doubt that her years of experience will be a huge benefit to the convention and tourism business here in Utah!  Congratulations to you Mary, and we know you'll be amazing!

American Cancer Society: Hope Gala

By

The Hope Gala is almost upon us and I'm excited that Culinary Crafts is involved with such a wonderful event and such a important cause!  The Hope Gala is an annual event hosted by the American Cancer Society to raise funds for their work and research.  This is our 3rd year with the gala and this year's theme is "Embracing Hope, Reflecting Light in the Darkness".  How gorgeous does that sound?  Not to mention its being held at OC Tanner!  Here are some photographs from the past 2 Hope Gala events and I'm sure this year will be equally amazing!

Gorgeous, right?  To find out more about the Hope Gala, click here.  And to make a donation to the American Cancer Society so they can continue on with their truly integral work, click here.
