A Very Special Baby Shower!

By

Hope you all had a lovely holiday with your friends and family!  Today we have a VERY SPECIAL Culinary Crafts event to share with you all!  It’s our very own Meagan Crafts Price and Clayton Price’s baby shower - and, spoiler alert, it was GORGEOUS!  Held at The Tasting Room, our friends at Soiree Productions created a picture perfect brunch party.  Check it out! How pretty is this signage?  A perfect welcome to the party and those florals from Artisan Bloom are stunning! The Tasting Room was the perfect venue, don’t you think?  We love the mix of feminine florals with just a touch of blue for Meagan and Clayton’s baby boy, Tristan! Another peek at those beautiful tables!  SO PRETTY! We loved how many fun details were party of this shower as well!  Guests were invited to take a Polaroid of themselves to put in the guestbook with a note for the soon-to-be parents! We knew we had to have a fresh juice bar!  Fresh squeezed OJ, Pomegranate Lemonade, Cucumber Mint Water, and Mango Lemonade were all served.  Yum! Of course, since we hosted a brunch party, we made sure to have a signature Coffee Bar! This action bar with artisan cheeses, salad, crackers, and honeycomb was definitely a crowd favorite! Seriously, how pretty was this event???  I couldn’t help but share one more of this beautiful setup! We love our Ebelskiver action station!  How could you not love these delicious pancakes?  Plus the guests love having theirs made to order! The hand calligraphied menus were such a great addition to the event!  Also we served Eggs Benedict because you can’t have brunch with out Benes.  Our delicious version were also made to order and topped with whichever toppings the guests wanted.  So good! Of course we also had a whole selection of desserts!  Plus, we love displaying some of them in our honeycomb display.  Such a whimsical touch! Thank you to all of the wonderful people who came to celebrate Meagan, Clayton, and baby Tristan!  And thank you to Soiree Productions, Artisan Bloom, The Tasting Room, Logan Walker Photography, and Pepper Nix Photography for coming together to host such a beautiful event for them too!  It was the best day to celebrate the best soon to be parents! Friday Instagram of the Week!

By

Today's Friday Instagram of the Week comes from, Heather, one of the fantastic guests from our Annual Penny Party!  We had SOOO much fun unveiling our new foods and trends and seeing all of your wonderful faces too!  This pic is of our charcuterie station and it was one of the most popular of the night!  We loved it because it married 3 of our FAVORITE local vendors fine offerings in perfect harmony; High West Whiskies, Beehive Cheeses (including a Culinary Crafts creation), and Creminelli Meats.  Yum!  Thank you to Heather for sharing this pic!  And remember, for your chance to be chosen next, tag your photos with @culinarycrafts or add the hashtag #culinarycrafts to your post and then check back next week to see who is picked next!  Happy weekend, everyone! NYE Pop Up Sneak Peek: Dry Aged Beef

By

Well, as you know, everyone here at Culinary Crafts LOVES the holiday season (I mean, who doesn't?)!  We especially love that this time of year really inspires friends and family to gather together over great food!  Another reason why we are especially excited for the upcoming holidays?  You might have heard that our New Year's Eve pop up is coming up and, oh man, the menu is going to be OUT OF THIS WORLD!  Chef Ryan Crafts has spent months putting together a decadent over-the-top menu that is a foodie's dream.  And one of the AMAZING elements he's bringing to your plate is fantastic Dry Aged Beef.  *queue the drooling* So, what's so special about Dry Aged Beef? you might ask.  As Ryan Crafts puts it, "This is the epitome of beef."  Well, I don't know about you, but that sounds pretty darn good! Basically, the beef is kept in a temperature, wind, and light controlled room for anywhere from 28 to 200 days. Over time, the water in the beef evaporates which concentrates the flavor just like reducing a sauce would. With prime cuts of beef this flavor is even more amazing the longer the beef ages (like a good cheese or a great wine).  It also allows for enzymes to start working on breaking down the muscle so the meat gets more and more tender with each passing day. After the desired amount of time (60 days for Ryan Crafts) the beef is butchered and trimmed away of all the jerky-like outer edges and you are left with, perhaps, some of the best tasting steak that money can buy. This process takes a lot of know-how and time to make sure you end up with something truly special - which is why it's such a special menu item!  Plus another fun fact?  We started aging the beef for our Pop Up in October in a facility in Vegas who also ages beef for the likes of top chefs like Guy Savoy and Jose Andres. We are SO excited to spend New Year's Eve with our foodie friends and can't wait to dazzle your taste buds with ALL of the amazing courses.  If you haven't gotten your tickets yet though, make sure you get them soon!  They are going fast!  Plus, wouldn't this make the perfect gift for someone special in your life?  (Hint: The answer is yes!)  Happy eating, everyone!   For tickets to the pop-up, check out the pop-up page on our website. A Modern, Stylish Tasting Room Wedding: The Food!

By

Today, we have the food from Chris and Jacoby's wedding and it was just as AMAZING as the decor - if not more so, in our opinion!  (If you didn't check out the decor post, make sure to check it out too - there was so much pretty going on at this event!)  Thank you again to Logan Walker Photography for the beautiful photos.  Now, on to the food! The gorgeous florals from Artisan Bloom were a great pair to the industrial touches and the vintage bar sign was such a fun detail! Custom "His & His" cocktails and Mini Tacos with tiny Patron bottle shots were the perfect welcome to this stylish reception!  How fun is this hors d'ouevre presentation?! Of course, what's a dinner without bread?  Our house made Black Pepper Brioche Rolls with Utah Sea Salt Butter paddles were so yummy! One of the many food stations - The delicious Mezzaluna Salad station! Our two salad offerings were so delicious (as well as beautiful!)  Our Farro Salad with Harvest Tomatoes, Roasted Beets, Herbs, Sweet Onion, Arugula, and Balsamic Vineagar and out Farm Greens, with Mango, Kiwi, Wonton Crisps, and Vanilla Bean Vinaigrette, topped with Toasted Coconut.  YUM! A menu after my own heart!  The couple chose to serve a selection of artisan cheese boards - how cute! Our cheese boards featured Tea Hive Cheddar, "What's Her Name?" Basque Style Sheep Milk Cheese, Deer Valley Triple Cream with Truffle, Point Reyes Blue Cheese, and Parmigiano Reggianno accompanied with Red Grapes, Honey Crisp Apple, Honey Comb, Bada Bing Cherries, and Salted Marcona Almonds.  So good! We also hosted action stations with different entrees including our Pan-Seared Black Cod with Honey Soy Glaze, Wilted Spinach, Parsnip Puree, Garnished with Edible Micro Flowers. Next up, our Smoked Short Rib Adobo with Mushroom Escabeche with Purple Potato Mash and Honey Barbecue Sauce!  Wait until you see the preparation of this dish... Each Short Rib entree was individually smoked under glass dome for the guests at the action station.  Such a fantastic presentation! The couple also chose to have a sushi bar complete with customized chopsticks that their guests could take home as favors! Plus, of course there were desserts!  Firstly, our House Made Gelato Station featured Vanilla and Passion Fruit flavors - both with options to 'spike' them!  Vanilla pairings were Espresso, Bailey's Irish Cream, or Kahlua and the Passion Fruit pairing was Limoncello.  Delicious!  And how fun were these sugar skulls? Cronuts, anyone?  We served these decadent beauties in cute little kraft bags so the guests could grab one as they left or take it with them while they mingled! Another fun addition?  Giant Cotton Candy Mountains!  So much fun!  We also served Fresh Baked Chocolate Chip Cookies and Affagatos!  SO DELCIOUS! Lastly, this cake from Carrie's Cakes was stunning!  And remember those custom cheese boards?  Well, guests were give these custom laser etched "Praise Cheeses" wooden cheese boards as well as a Jack-O-Latern to take home as favors (did I mention their wedding was a couple days before Halloween?!) We loved ALL of the amazing details, love, and thought that Chris and Jacoby brought to their AMAZING wedding day and we're so thankful for being able to showcase some truly creative eats for one of our favorite 'freind-ors' big day!  I hope this inspires all of you to create an amazing day that is uniquely you as well.  Happy planning! A Modern, Stylish Tasting Room Wedding: The Decor!

By

Today, we have an all-time FAVORITE wedding of Culinary Crafts's!  One of our friends and vendor partners, Chris Lavoie of Silver Summit Events, got married last year and we KNEW his wedding was going to be AMAZING, plus he chose to host it at our downtown venue space, The Tasting Room, and, I tell you, it did not disappoint!  Now, this wedding was chock full of so much pretty, we had to split the post into 2 parts - first up, the decor!  We will post the delicious food next week, so make sure to check back.  Thank you to Logan Walker Photography for the beautiful photos.  Check it out! Chris and his husband, Jacoby, were such a perfect pair!  We loved the cohesive look they brought to their wedding clothes while still choosing things that were uniquely each of their own styles! We love the tongue in cheek wording on their programs and the kind reminder signage to the guests to let the professional photographer take the photos so they could be present in the moment is a favorite for sure. How pretty is this ceremony setup?  The florist, Artisan Bloom, hit it out of the park!  LOVE! More gorgeous florals from Artisan Bloom!  Chris and Jacoby chose to host an intimate reception with their closest friends and family and they put a lot of thought of how to really show their guests something meaningful, thoughtful, and BEAUTIFUL!  Well done, we say. Another gorgeous overview of the space.  I mean, how could I not? Their wedding was held in fall and we loved the elements of the harvest that were added as well as masculine touches of navy in to keep the feel beautiful as well as not overly feminine.  The result?  A rich palette of so much delicious, visually interesting decor! I can't forget the breathtaking hanging floral chandeliers!  These were such a pretty and striking addition to the room! The lovely ladies of Artisan Bloom killed it!  We love this picture of Chris, Kellie, and Dayna - such cuties!  Plus, isn't this lounge space and the floral adorned frame great?  Perfect for photos! Speaking of which, we love this 'family portrait' of the couple and their cute Great Dane pups. Another fun sign for the guests at the bar.  We love it! To encourage people to mingle, the couple opted to add high boy seating around the space so people could move about after dinner while they partied into the night.  We love the gold accents and the charcoal linens!  Such a polished and chic look. Chris and Jacoby wanted to make sure that their guests had SO much fun!  They added tons of games, including shuffleboard, and a fun sketch "photo booth" with hand drawn versions of the vintage style photo strips!  (How cool is that?!) They even brought in a pool table, which we loved! And, because no detail was overlooked, they had their initials custom printed onto the pool table balls! How pretty was this wedding?  LOVE IT!  Plus, remember to stay tuned for the food post where we focus on the AMAZING menu the couple chose to serve at their wedding!  We had such a great time collaborating with them.  Stay tuned and happy planning, everyone! The Craft(s) Launch Party!

By

Today, I have a really special blog that is close to the Culinary Crafts team's hearts - our launch party for the new series, The Craft(s)!  It debuted recently (hopefully, you all saw it!) and, in true Culinary Crafts fashion, we had a FANTASTIC launch party to get y'all excited for this amazing series!  For all of those who couldn't join us, we are sad you couldn't party with us, and for those who were able to join us, thank you and we hope this reminds you of this fun night!  Check it out! CC_LaunchParty Of course, we hosted the event at our downtown venue, The Tasting Room!  Such a perfect fit and we loved the decor!  We decided to go with a modern, industrial feel - and aren't these tables cool?  Love it! CC_LaunchParty2 We decided to create action stations that represented each episode in the series.  For each station, we created a dish as well as a cocktail that perfectly represented the theme and this station "Smoke" was so much fun!  The Smoked Maple Bourbon Sour Cocktail was AMAZING!  The creation of the drink was a pretty awesome show too! CC_LaunchParty3 We got to really pull out the creative guns on this one.  The Smoked Short Rib with a Smoked Demi Glace was put in a smoking chamber to infuse the meat with even more smoky goodness.  After it was properly infused, we placed it atop our Purple Potato Puree to finish the dish!  YUM! CC_LaunchParty4 Next up?  Our "Fire" station!  Of course, we brought some flame to this station!  Our Fireside Signature Cocktail was set aflame and our guests loved it! CC_LaunchParty5 Next we served Flambed Ramen with our Killer Broth with Chef-Torched Beef, Fire Grilled Peppers, and a Sesame Chili Sauce.  Perfect! CC_LaunchParty6 This is our Flaming Pumpkin Meringue Pie - which was SO delicious.  And our "Fashion" station served Housemade Ricotta and Squash Ravioli.  Such a decadently elegant dish! CC_LaunchParty7 Of course, while you are perusing the stations (because there are more to come - you better believe it), we had butler passed hors-d'oeuvres!  These Mini Brie Grilled Cheese Sandwiches with Pomegranate Arils and the Crostini with Goat Cheese and Poached Pear Compote were so good! CC_LaunchParty9 Of course, we had to pay our homage to apples!  Utah boasts some of the best local apples ANYWHERE and we try to use them anyway we can!  The "Apple" station included Crispy Pork Belly with Whipped Cider Ricotta and Sous-Vide Cooked Apple Relish PLUS an apple dessert trio!  The Apple Pie on a Stick, Poached Apples with Mascarpone, and Apple Sorbet with a Dried Apple Chip were all divine! CC_LaunchParty10 BUTTER, need I say more?  This station included Butter Poached Scallops with a Brussel Sprout Slaw and Citrus Beurre Blanc as well as a bread station (mmm, carbs) with an assortment of house-made breads and house made compound butters and garnishes.  I'll admit, I tried EVERY SINGLE OPTION.  No regrets. CC_LaunchParty8 Last, but certainly not least, we include a station that gave a nod to one of our signature offerings, our House Made gelato!  The "Gelato" station included an Olive Oil Gelato with Balsamic Poached Pears Garnished with Sea Salt, Red Wine Gelato with Chocolate Shortbread, and Salted Caramel Gelato which we used in either a Porter Float OR a Root Beer Float!  Plus, to balance all of the sweetness this station has to offer, we brought in our Coffee Nerd Coffee Bar with cold brew and french press coffees!  Such a delicious treat and our guests LOVED the interesting flavors! CC_LaunchParty11 We are SO excited for our new series - and if you haven't watched the first episode, we hope you check it out!  (You can see it here.)  We are so thankful to each and every one of you who has helped us get to this AMAZING place in our business!  We are so happy to be able to bring you this new venture and also keep creating new and inventive culinary trends!  Happy viewing, everyone!
