Culinary Crafts Gives Back | Trendy Tuesday

By

Mary presenting the donation to the International Caterers Association for their Educational Foundation last summer. We here at Culinary Crafts are big believers in philanthropy both for the communities we live in and in the industry we work in.  Culinary Crafts believes that giving back is a necessary act that must be added to our daily lives, not only to show gratitude for all of the blessings that each of us has, but to better our communities as a whole and lead by example.  We are very involved with such worthwhile organizations such as The United Way of Utah County, the American Cancer Society, Women In Philanthropy, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation (amongst others) - but we also believe in helping out the people in our industry who need guidance, resources, or a head start to create an AMAZING business.  After all, it was not without help that we were able to get where we are today!  In tradition of helping give a hand to our colleagues, we recently we gave away a leadership scholarship donation through the International Caterers Association's education foundation.  The recipient this year was Debby Stein from Texas and because of our education scholarship, Debby is able to attend a week Catersource Conference in Las Vegas, a week at The Art of Catering in Philadelphia, and a week in Utah mentoring with Mary and Culinary Crafts, all expenses paid!  It was an amazing experience and we were so thrilled to be able to award this to such a deserving recipient!  I hope this inspires you to get out in your community and make a difference!  After all, we should strive to make our world and community better, for ours and the generations to come!  Happy helping, everyone! Rustic Ranch Wedding Part 1 | Trendy Tuesday

By

Today, I am so excited to share one of my favorite weddings from 2012 with you!  This colorful wedding was full of gorgeous details, rustic touches, and an overall sense of love, celebration, and family.  It was SO awesome, we actually needed to break it up into 3 separate posts!  Today, we'll be showing you the beauty of the Red Cliff Ranch which set the stage for this truly spectacular event that we LOVED every second of - not to mention the florals and design of our friends at Scenemakers!  Check it out! The wedding was held at the GORGEOUS Red Cliff Ranch!  We loved that they wanted the natural beauty and rustic feel of the venue to shine!  So pretty! The trend of fun signage for the flower girls or ring bearers to carry down the aisle is a great way for couple's to show their personal side.  Plus the kids love being such an important part of the day! The Red Cliff Ranch's barn was a gorgeous choice for the couple dinner with this newly joined family!  We also love the large monograms on the barn doors that Scenemakers created.  So fun! The gorgeous mountains of the Heber Valley make for STUNNING backdrops.  Perfect surroundings for the lounge we created in the corral where people could relax and chat in comfy style! At night, the ranch lights up, and if possible, becomes just as beautiful as it is during the day, if not moreso!  The couple chose to hire Something Vintage, Something Blue's Dazee to whisk them away in style.  Love that car! We are so excited to share the details and food from this day, so stay tuned!  Happy planning everyone! Utah Bride & Groom Feature – Nantucket Nuptials | Trendy Tuesday

By

We are winding down with our featured weddings, but we are just as excited to share these beauties as their predecessors and this  STUNNING backyard wedding is simply divine!  Featured in our AMAZING local (and beautiful!)  Utah Bride & Groom Magazine this event boasted fantastic DIY details, easy elegance, and a true Cape Cod flair.  Definitely a favorite!  Check it out! The GORGEOUS layout n Utah Bride & Groom Magazine featuring photos from David Newkirk Photography!  As usual, we couldn't resist sharing some of our photos from the day, so here's a bit more of this festive wedding! This poolside reception was hosted in the bride's GORGEOUS childhood home whose Cape Cod inspired architecture truly was a main theme for this wedding. We loved the fabric flags, preppy color palette, and cool lounge seating.  Such a fun and classic design - we are in LOVE! The Izze sodas in galvanized tubs on the diving board and lavender bunches that scented the air were a  few of the fantastic details that we couldn't resist.  Not to mention the whimsical yellow and grey paper straws! Gorgeous florals from our friends at Scenemakers who, naturally, created breathtaking pieces throughout the space! My favorite spot were the white "libraries" filled with all sorts of fun things to "grab and go" throughout the evening.  Parchment bags of fruit & cherries, mini foccaccia sandwiches, and yummy skewered lime cilantro shrimp! Even more scrumptious food from this fantastic affair including chocolate donut holes which looked amazing in the wheat grass display.  Beautiful and delicious! We love that the couple asked us to add our Farfalle Pasta action station.  Fresh made-to-order pasta dishes were a definite crowd favorite! The couple added our house-made gelato station in lieu of wedding cake - which we LOVED!  Wedding cake is not a necessary wedding mainstay anymore and we love when couples pick their favorite desserts to really tailor their day instead of conforming to tradition that may not suit them.  In this case, the gelato station was a perfect fit to this easy, relaxed reception!  And a welcome treat on this summer day! Thank you to Utah Bride & Groom for sharing this picturesque wedding with your readers and thank you to all of the vendors who made this day a hit.  Also, a big congrats to Stephanie and Jonathan!  Thank you for letting us be a part of this GORGEOUS day! Utah Valley Bride Magazine Feature A Romantic, Bohemian Wedding | Trendy Tuesday

By

Hi all!  Today, in keeping with our theme of releasing all of the GORGEOUS feature weddings we were involved in in the FANTASTIC local bridal magazines, we have another beauty for you today from Utah Valley Bride Magazine!  This wedding was full of dreamy, pretty details and the ever talented Alixann Loosle captured the feel just perfectly!  Check it out! This is the BEAUTIFUL Utah Valley Bride layout!  We just had to show you more, from Alixann Loosle's blog, on this stunning day! We loved the natural and organic beauty of the tables and the neutral hues with pops of pink were PERFECT! So many dainty and perfect touches!  The lace embellishment of the bride's dress, the simple floral headpiece, pine sprig favors, and a vintage dresser cake display were understated yet dynamic. The bridesmaids all wore matching hues, but picked a dress to suit their personal style - definitely a trend we are LOVING! The clean lines of the bride and groom's monogram on the head table was a delightful surprise - especially amongst the super feminine and natural elements throughout. We wish all the best to Tregan and Landon!  It was such a spectacular day and we are so thankful to Utah Valley Bride for sharing it with all of you!  Also, more kudos to Alixann for the GORGEOUS coverage of the day!  Stay tuned for more from the pages more magazines everyone!  We just can't wait! Utah Valley Bride Magazine – Rustic Whimsy Wedding | Trendy Tuesday

By

We are so thrilled that so many of the weddings we did this past year are featured in our AMAZING local wedding magazines (which are all on newsstands now, so go get them)!  We'll be featuring all of the lovely yumminess of these events over the next couple of weeks - but I wanted to start off with Ashley Richards's BEAUTIFUL wedding, which was featured in Utah Valley Magazine.  Filled with lovely decor, whimsical and rustic touches, and, of course, delicious food - this event was an awesome start to this couple's wonderful life together!  Check it out! This is Utah Valley Bride's GORGEOUS layout and we LOVE all of the details!  So much that we simply couldn't resist sharing more pictures from these nuptials! The color palatte for this event was so fun and yet they were paired with neutral tones to keep it balanced - even though it was SUPER colorful!  The fruitwood tables and rich dark woods really let the florals and ribbon accents sing! This wedding was FULL of details we just couldn't resist!  The paper fans to cool the guests on this hot summer night with their cheeky phrase, the bright yellow vintage truck was such a different and unique addition, the bright florals paired with succulents were a match made in heaven, and the ribbon ceiling!  I wish I had a room with one of these fun ceilings year round! The food was just as fun as the color palette!  Our Gourmet Quesadillas, Homemade Chinese Dumplings, Flame Torched Beef with Baked Risotto, and Summer Harvest Salads made for a summer feast to suit any guests appetite! One of the hits of the night was the Make-Your-Own Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich station!  Our house made gelato with our freshly baked cookies were a perfect match!  And we loved that Ashley selected Pumpkin Chocolate Chip cake for the couple's wedding cake!  So fun! Such a beautiful night!  We are so grateful to Utah Valley Magazine for choosing this wedding and can't wait to show you the other weddings in our other local magazines!  Stay tuned everyone! Giving Thanks At Your Wedding | Trendy Tuesday

By

As we are rapidly approaching Thanksgiving, I have thought to myself the many ways we can show thanks for all we have and also give thanks to the people we love for being in our lives.  With this thought in mind, I remembered that showing thanks to the friends and family who you surround yourself with at your wedding is a very important part of your day.  That is why I am loving the many favors people choose to give gifts to their guests to show their appreciation for them!  Whether is be whimsical or elegant, there is no end to what you can give as a favor.  And, may we suggest a tasty morsel from Culinary Crafts, such as macarons, gourmet popcorn, or chocolates?  Such a perfect treat for any guest!  Take a look at some of our favorites! As you can see, there are so many fun ways to incorporate favors into your wedding - and really, just a personalized touch will let your guests know how much you love them!  Happy planning everyone! Scenemakers Is AMAZING! | Trendy Tuesday

By

Hi all!  Today, I'd like to post about one of Culinary Crafts's favorite vendors, Scenemakers!  Scenemakers is one of the BEST event design and floral design companies in Utah.  Seriously, they are AMAZING and we love working with them!  Luckily, we have the opportunity quite often - they even did the florals for The Tasting Room's grand opening (which were stunning, naturally).  We also did a ton of GORGEOUS weddings this summer with them, but we can't post them just yet because many of them will be in upcoming bridal magazines, so keep your eyes out!  In the meantime, take a look at some of their stellar work!!! You may also recognize Scenemakers's beautiful florals from Mary Crafts-Homer's wedding last summer!  We seriously love Scenemakers and we are so thankful to call them a vendor partner!  Scenemakers is not only for weddings, either.  They do some show-stopping corporate events too.  They are all around amazing for any event you are having, pretty much.  Keep on being wonderful Scenemakers  Happy planning everyone! Green Bride Guide Approved! | Trendy Tuesday

By

Hello all!  We are happy to announce that we have been accepted and approved as a vendor in The Green Bride Guide!  As you know, we at Culinary Crafts are always trying to figure out ways to be better ecological stewards in our community and believe that being green is the best way for us to give back to our community and maintain the highest quality and integrity of service to our clients.  Take a look at a little bit of the press release from The Green Bride Guide: Culinary Crafts is approved as a Green Bride Guide green wedding vendor! Culinary Crafts has been selected by the Green Bride Guide, the #1 green wedding website, for inclusion in their Green Wedding Directory (www.greenbrideguide.com/directory).   The Green Bride Guide is the most comprehensive and credible green wedding resource online. The Directory is like a Yellow Pages for green weddings that provides a centralized resource of green wedding vendors, searchable by geographic area.   This year, almost 50% of couples are looking to include green elements in their events, and 85% are concerned about greenwashing, the passing off of non-green companies as eco-friendly. To address these concerns, the Green Bride Guide screens all vendors in the directory and displays their green practices in their profiles.  Culinary Crafts received a 5.4 leaf rating from the Green Bride Guide. We are so thrilled to be a part of such worthwhile service for all the couples out there that take the environment and their footprint on this Earth into consideration when celebrating such a big event in their lives.  Culinary Crafts is proud to be green and proud to make the world a better place!  Happy Tuesday everyone!
