Venue Love: Washington School House Tour

By

Recently, I was fortunate enough to tour the historic Washington School House Hotel in Park City, Utah - and, boy, was it GORGEOUS!  Lucky for you, I got photos from the tour and I can share the beauty and design amazing-ness that this hotel boasts!  Check it out! angela-howard-park-city-hotel-cc Nestled in the heart of downtown Park City, Utah, the Washington School House stands out with its pretty limestone facade and original architectural elements.  SO stunning! angela-howard-park-city-hotel-cc2 Although the owners had the property's designers keep the historic feel in mind, they also added a ton of modern and contemporary touches - like this elegant and stiking signage.  It blends perfectly, don't you think? angela-howard-park-city-hotel-cc3 angela-howard-park-city-hotel-cc4 Off to the side of the entryway is this FABULOUS dining room where they serve gourmet made-to-order breakfasts as well as mouth-watering apres-ski appetizers (included with your accommodations, of course) that are prepared by their private chef, Ernesto Rocha, who also happens to be the head chef at the critically acclaimed Zoom restaurant in Park City.  They also allow outside catering for private events and weddings and we here at Culinary Crafts are SO excited to offer catering for those intimate events!!! angela-howard-park-city-hotel-cc5 angela-howard-park-city-hotel-cc6 Remember the made-to-order breakfast I mentioned earlier?  Well, we got to taste some of the breakfast offerings they have and it was DELICIOUS!  They also have fantastic pastry chef who made many to-die-for confections, but my favorite was a seriously AMAZING strawberry rhubarb coffee cake.  So yummy. angela-howard-park-city-hotel-cc7 Now, onto the rest of t!  This room was my favorite with 16 foot ceilings and so much natural light.  Plus, check out the bathroom and that fantastic claw-footed tub!  Love it! angela-howard-park-city-hotel-cc8 One of the other things I love about this hotel is their rooftop pool.  It was gorgeous and well-appointed, plus you can people-watch and feel like you are a part of the city while relaxin' pool-side. angela-howard-park-city-hotel-cc9 Lastly, they have this FANTASTIC lounge that would be perfect for private parties and events!  It is cozy and inviting and I LOVED the details!  Exposed beams? Check! White washed brick? Check!  Fabulous, yet comfy, furniture? Check!  A boutique with AWESOME gifties?  Check plus! angela-howard-park-city-hotel-cc10 The Washington School House is such a gem and I LOVED every minute of the tour.  They have taken so much care to curate the art, furniture, and look of the place that you just feel extremely special having a stay there.  Plus, it would be AMAZING for a small wedding, private party, corporate event, and so much more!  They offer a 'buy-out' so you can get the hotel all to yourself and your guests - which I love for a wedding weekend or family holiday retreat!  Such a great addition to Park City and we can't wait to see the fabulous events to be had there!  Happy dreaming, everyone! Charming, Whimsical Wedding at The Tasting Room

By

Today, I'm so excited to share this lovely wedding that was held recently at our downtown Salt Lake City venue, The Tasting Room and catered by Culinary Crafts!  Bursting with whimsical details, pretty touches, and fab food,  this wedding was so much fun!  Check it out! TastingRoom We loved that the guests were greeted with the photo guest book table!  Not only a fun way for your guests to drop you a line, but a great way to make sure you get a picture of all of the fabulous friends and family that celebrated the day with you! TastingRoom2 The oversized "LOVE" signage topped of with colorful balloons was another fun touch!  We love the pairing of these details with the neutral burlap linens.  It really adds a sense of balance and warmth to the event. TastingRoom3 The ceremony set up was so pretty with the lovely handmade bunting and those beautiful fruitwood chivari chairs! Another great mix of elements that created a great overall feel. TastingRoom4 Check out these AWESOME cakes!  I love that the wedding cake topper was a zombie-fied version of the bride and groom - And how cool is the vintage VW bug groom's cake?  Such great attention to detail (the license plate says JSTMRD) and those cans are just so cute! TastingRoom5 This wedding was chock full of delicious eats - starting with the appetizers!  The guests were treated to an assortment of Lemon Marinated Tortellini and Sun-dried Tomato Skewers, Bruschetta with Roasted Artichoke and Gorgonzola, and Ahi Tuna Tartare in Won Ton Cone.  YUM! TastingRoom6 So many fun details!  From the cute, pink dachshund escort cards, the tiny Maker's Mark favors, to the shimmery gold table numbers - this wedding had so many things that showed off this couple's personality!  Love it! TastingRoom7 This is one of my favorite Culinary Crafts's summer salads - which you can find a recipe for here.  We plated this beautiful Balsamic Marinated Watermelon Salad with Crushed Pistachios and pre-set it for the guests so when they were invited to sit down for dinner, they were welcomed with this pretty and refreshing salad! TastingRoom8 TastingRoom9 Love this buffet!  It was full of seasonal favorites like Fresh Fruit & Berries, Fresh Green Beans with Lemon and Toasted Almonds, and Pommes Anna! TastingRoom10 They couple also chose to served Grilled Hawaiian Butter Fish with Rhubarb Compote and Balsamic Strawberries, Carved Pepper-Crusted Prime Rib with Cilantro Lime Aioli and Charred Tomato Salsa, Crispy Onion Straws, and Filly Frisee Watercress and Baby Lettuce Salad with Beets, Goat Cheese and Walnuts with Lemon Walnut Vinaigrette.  Seriously, so DELICIOUS! We loved this wedding and loved all of the personal touches that the couple added.  Not to mention, The Tasting Room was the perfect venue!  Thank you so much to Jessica & Solomon for letting us help them with this AMAZING day! Venue Love: Rose House at Red Butte Gardens

By

Today, I'd like to showcase another FANTASTIC space that Red Butte Garden has to offer - The Rose House!  This new and contemporary space boasts the ability to host an indoor/outdoor event for more intimate gatherings with gorgeous architecture in a breathtaking setting.  It can host 80 guests seated (or 100 theater style) and is simply stunning with floor to ceiling windows that offer unobstructed views of the surrounding grounds.  Seriously, this space is a perfect for any event!  Speaking of which, Culinary Crafts had the honor of catering a wedding reception that was held there recently and we were floored!  Check it out! RoseHousePost Isn't Red Butte Garden just STUNNING!  And for the couple wanting some truly extraordinary photo ops, this is the place! RoseHousePost2 I love this bouquet!  The poppy yet natural color palette is just perfect and balanced beautifully with the soft whites and vibrant greens. RoseHousePost3 We love this family!  The bride is actually one of three sisters, all of whom we have had the pleasure of helping with their weddings!  And, interestingly, they all have selected Red Butte Garden for their wedding reception.  The other 2 sisters held their receptions in the AMAZING Orangerie, but Lauren took the opportunity to use the new Rose House!  Quite a tradition for this wonderful family and we just love them! RoseHousePost4 Mmm.  This cake was dreamy and I love the use of fresh fruit for decoration - not to mention the use of the striped linens to set the cake table apart!  And don't you just love the simple yet bold linens and centerpieces on the other tables!? RoseHousePost5 This event was all about casual ease, so we served grab and go items like these Mini Pulled Pork Sliders, which everyone loved, and allowed them to mingle all night! RoseHousePost6 We, of course, created a selection of sweet treats as well!  The simple, yet delicious, cake pops and the fresh and delectable berry parfaits were welcome morsels!  Yum! RoseHousePost7 RoseHousePost8 Isn't this space just GORGEOUS!  I love the seamless flow it creates from the indoor area to the outdoor patio.  Functional and beautiful - that why we love it! RoseHousePost9 I love the use of the modern sun shades on the outdoor patio!  Such a fun detail that keeps your guests out of the heat and creates some really wonderful visual interest! RoseHousePost10 We have always loved Red Butte Garden and the spaces that they have offered and new Rose House did not disappoint!  This space is a perfect addition and we are so excited to do more events there this year!  Happy planning everyone!
