Candied pecans can spruce up any boring salad. They taste delicious with berries and pears, or any other fruit you like!
2 cups pecans
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 TBSP honey
You'll also need a sheet pan and a spatula.
Start with a sheet pan and put down parchment or wax paper and spray it really well! Since it's sugary, it'll stick a lot. Next, spread all the pecans evenly over it.
Then take your 1/2 cup packed brown sugar and sprinkle it over top. Then pour 2 tbsp of honey over all of it.
Mix together with your hands until everything is coated well. This will get really sticky and messy! Make sure none get left out or dry. Put in the oven 350 degrees.
Every 5 minutes take it out of the oven and stir them. It'll be in the oven for around 15-20 minutes. Just watch it. It's done when there's a glaze and there's no more granular sugar. Get out a new cookie sheet. Put parchment or wax paper over the bottom and coat it with cooking spray.
It pairs perfectly with a salad. Cut up some lettuce. Add blackberries, sliced pears, and the candied pecans you just made. Drizzle with some lemon vinaigrette (recipe here) and enjoy!
