Dreamy Pink & Blue Spring Utah County Wedding!

By | Culinary Crafts Events, Event Tips and Planning, Featured: Culinary Crafts in the Press, Modern Wedding Style, Hot Tips for Cool Brides, Wedding Trends | No Comments

Today we have a GORGEOUS wedding that Culinary Crafts did last spring that we LOVE.  This little beauty was featured on Martha Stewart Weddings AND our local Utah Valley Bride magazine!  It was such a dreamy day, captured by Ashley Sawtelle, and we are so happy to be sharing it with you!  Check it out!

Our signature House Made Strawberry Shortcakes were a guest favorite!  We love this dessert and it was perfect for this spring wedding.

Isn’t this invitation suite beautiful? Lovely stationary design by Alex Fairchild and calligraphy by Kelle McCarter!

This bridal party is perfectly matched!  We love the blue and pink palette!

Another calligraphic gem by Kelle McCarter, we love these place cards!  Another great element?  The lavender cones that were passed to guests to shower the couple at their send off!

Isn’t Stone Hill Lodge Estate beautiful?  We love it’s rustic elegance and isn’t this tablescape to die for?  L’Arrangement Floral nailed the florals and the rentals from Diamond Rental and linens from La Tavola Fine Linens came together just perfectly!

How amazing is this cake and macaron display from the talented Flour and Flourish?  LOVE IT!  And the crowns were a favorite detail, for sure!

This wedding was SOOOOO pretty and we are so thrilled to see it shared in so many awesome publications!  I hope it inspires you to create a magical event of your own!  Happy planning, everyone!

Beauty and Her Feast Editorial Shoot!

By | Culinary Crafts Events, Event Tips and Planning, Every Day Life at Culinary Crafts, Featured: Culinary Crafts in the Press, Food, Modern Wedding Style, Hot Tips for Cool Brides, Sharing the Love -Vendor and Client Relationships, Vendor Love!, Wedding Trends | No Comments

Today, we are showcasing this simply romantic editorial shoot we did that you may have seen in Utah Valley Bride magazine as well as our new bridal ad!  We love our Beauty and Her Feast menu and the spectacular vendor team put together an AMAZINGLY gorgeous shoot!  Check it out!

This beautiful tablescape was captured perfectly by Heather Nan Photography, don’t you think?!   Plus, isn’t this setting so dreamy?

Love

The rentals from Diamond Rental were so elegant and added a textural element to the table that we loved.  Plus, the paper goods from Ann Elizabeth Print Studio were so lovely.  The hand torn edges and wax seal on the menus were such a great element that took them over the top!

We loved these simple Short Rib Lettuce Wraps on golden plates – So pretty and delicious!  Plus, of course we had to have a cocktail that tied into the palette so we created this Hibiscus Rose Cocktail with Hibiscus Tea, Rose Hips, Vodka, and Ginger Beer!

Next, our salad course was a hearty Blood Beet Greens Salad with Sorrel, Roasted Beets, Goat Cheese, Oranges, Pistachios, and a Citrus Vinaigrette.  Earthy and complex, we also loved the way this plate tied in with the table’s colors!

Next, our fish course was a Butter-Poached Red Trout with Israeli Couscous and Roasted Peppers.  Light and beautiful!  Plus, don’t you love our black tie service?  What a way to make your event feel elegant and high end!

Of course, with a decadent plated menu, we love serving an intermezzo course.  In the summer months, our house made Blood Orange Sorbet is perfect for cleansing your palette AND cooling off your guests!  Love it!

Next, our entree course was a Pork Saltimbocca with Roasted Roma Tomatoes and Fried Sage.  We loved incorporating seasonal produce into this dish!

And, of course, then came dessert!  These Black Forest Petite Bundt Cakes were so delcious!!!  And, we loved the natural stone plates.  What an unexpected and beautiful element!

I can’t but help share the breathtaking florals by Soil and Stem and the amazing stained glass cake by Carries Cakes!  Aren’t they pretty?!

Of course, we had to do a bit of a dessert selection, so we also served Vanilla Bean Rose Cupcakes with a rose frosting design, Mini Lemon Meringue Tarts, and Chocolate Dipped Bosc Pears!  All served with these pretty glass bell jar tops.  How fun!

We loved this shoot and thought it was brimming with so much good stuff!  I think you’ll agree.  🙂  We hope it inspires all of you to get creative with your events and add some additional elements to take it over the top!  Happy planning, everyone!

A Wedding With A Patriotic Twist!

By | Culinary Crafts Events, Event Tips and Planning, Featured: Culinary Crafts in the Press, Food, Holiday Parties, Modern Wedding Style, Hot Tips for Cool Brides, Parties, Venues We Love | No Comments

You know, all of us here at Culinary Crafts think Utah is a great place to live.  We have BEAUTIFUL surroundings, GREAT people, and some of the most AMAZING weddings anywhere!  Plus, there’s an added bonus in July.  It isn’t just time for one fireworks-filled celebration, the 4th of July, but we get to have a second festive holiday celebration for Pioneer Day!  Well, we want to inspire you to bring a extra level of awesome to any Pioneer Day events you might be hosting this weekend by showcasing this stunning wedding – with a twist of festive, patriotic flair!

CC_LizLee

Firstly, remember what I was saying about Utah’s beautiful surroundings?  Well, Aspen Meadows is breathtaking!  It was such a lovely place to host this wedding!

CC_LizLee2

We love the subtle hints of Americana and love the couple’s choice to bring a bit of romance and balance to the red, white, and blue palette with pops of pink instead of bright reds.  Such a pretty decor!

CC_LizLee3

Next, we created drink to fit with the patriotic theme like the Strawberry and Blueberry Mojitos!  We loved that the fruit added a delicious touch – but was a super fun “patriotic” detail as well!

CC_LizLee4

Isn’t this a pretty site for a cocktail hour?  We love that the tables weren’t competing with the already present natural beauty.  Also, using the taller tables encourages people to mix and mingle – which is great idea for any event!

CC_LizLee5

While the interior had hints of the patriotic palette – and definitely a gorgeously, romantic vibe – the outside was a place that we took the theme over-the-top!  From this fun red, white, and blue teepee (which the kids LOVED) to the patriotic pillows on the luxe white lounge furniture.  It was the perfect way to amp up the theme!

CC_LizLee6

Of course, we made sure to serve some truly delicious eats.  The couple wanted to keep with a more casual menu with an elegant, upscale feel!  The hors d’oeuvres were definitely a reflection of that.  Yum!!!

CC_LizLee7

Such a pretty day for a wedding!  We loved putting the dinner buffet just outside the dining area – another great way to tie in the beautiful surroundings!

CC_LizLee8

We kept the romantic, yet casual, vibe going through dinner – and it was scrumptious!

CC_LizLee9

To kick off the buffet, we served some gorgeous sides like the Mixed Baby Greens Salad with Feta, Berries, Toasted Almonds, & Vanilla Bean Vinaigrette; Roasted Potatoes with Herb Salsa; and Fresh Mozzarella, Basil & Grape Tomatoes Salad.  Light and fresh – perfect for a summer party!

CC_LizLee10

Next, we get to the main courses!  House Made Corn Bread with a Sprinkle of Paprika, served with Honey Butter; Grilled Chicken with Herb & Chili Rub; and finally our AMAZING Barbecued Short Ribs.  Seriously delicious!

CC_LizLee11

Another festive touch for this party?  Fire pits which just beckoned the guests to get outside and hang out.  LOVE!

CC_LizLee12

Of course, since we have fire pits (and it’s summer), we just had to have a S’mores Bar complete with Hershey’s Chocolate, Graham Crackers, and Culinary Crafts Signature House Made Marshmallows!  The guests LOVED this!

CC_LizLee13

And, lastly, the bride and groom selected this AMAZING American flag ‘cake pop’ cake for dessert which had to be my FAVORITE detail of the whole day!  It was so fun and so festive.  A perfect touch for this wedding with a patriotic twist!

We loved this wedding so much and think it has so much to inspire you in planning your parties and BBQs for this holiday weekend!  Happy planning, everyone!

Today, we have an AMAZING inspiration shoot that we did in collaboration with Leslie Dawn Events and Rocky Mountain Bride for RMB‘s Volume 1 that was released earlier this year!  It was a beautiful, romantic Roaring 20’s style shoot – which was perfectly set at the McCune Mansion.  Bursting with beautiful jewel tones, rich gold, decadent food, and moody romance, and J Fairchild Photography captured it all perfectly!  Check it out!

RMB_20sInspirationShoot

To start, we love this invitation suite from Foil & Ink with gorgeous calligraphy by Karli Noel Calligraphy.  So pretty!

RMB_20sInspirationShoot2

Now, on to the main event!  Look at this breathtaking tablescape.  I mean, how beautiful is this?!  We love the design by Leslie Dawn Events and the gorgeous florals from Sax Romney.  A perfect pairing, for sure!

RMB_20sInspirationShoot3

The mix n’ matched placesettings were such a great way to add another visual element to the table.  And the place card design fit seamlessly as well.  LOVE!

RMB_20sInspirationShoot4

A perfect romantic, candlelit moment.

RMB_20sInspirationShoot5

We had so much fun with this menu!  For starters, we served a Lamb & Mint Pesto Lollipop and an Artichoke Lollipop.  Yum!

RMB_20sInspirationShoot6

Next, we served a cheese and wine pairing featuring a amuse bouche of Bosc Pear, Deer Valley Double Cream Brie, Fresh Thyme, and Fig.  So good!  We also served a Mixed Green Salad with Asian Pears, Candied Walnuts, and Berries in an elegant, vintage-style champagne glass.

RMB_20sInspirationShoot8

Last, but not least, we served Chocolate Mousse Cups with Gold Leafing and a pair of Pistachio Macarons.  And this art deco cake from Flour & Flourish was another AMAZING dessert offering!

RMB_20sInspirationShoot7

The McCune Mansion is such a beautiful venue and has so many great spaces for photo ops.

RMB_20sInspirationShoot9

For a ‘late-night’ snack we also served Cocktail Shrimp with Gazpacho.  Plus, how pretty is the bar?  Love the draping florals and mirror signage!  So much beauty going on!

RMB_20sInspirationShoot10

We absolutely LOVED being a part of this shoot and had so much fun with this AMAZING vendor team!  Also, make sure that you check out Rocky Mountain Bride‘s Volume 1 – it is seriously SO stunning!  Happy dreaming, everyone!

Geek Chic Wedding featured on DIY Weddings Mag

By | Culinary Crafts Events, Event Tips and Planning, Featured: Culinary Crafts in the Press, Food, Modern Wedding Style, Hot Tips for Cool Brides, Venues We Love, Wedding Trends | No Comments

This week, we saw this AWESOME wedding Culinary Crafts on DIY Weddings Mag and we couldn’t help but share it on our blog too!  (You should definitely check out their post for some awesome DIY inspiration!)  But first, check out this wedding!  [Amazing photos by Logan Walker Photography.]

GushwaWeddingCC

We love The Salt Lake City Library, such a great venue!

GushwaWeddingCC2

How cute are these two?  Love it!

GushwaWeddingCC3

The ceremony was so simply beautiful and the views of the city and mountains were breathtaking!

GushwaWeddingCC4

Loved this simple arch, but at night it truly was gorgeous!

GushwaWeddingCC5

These two were such a fun couple.  And the library has so many cool spots for photos!

GushwaWeddingCC6

How cool is this reception area?  The venue is already pretty rad, so you can go pretty simple (or go over the top) and either way, it still will look amazing!

GushwaWeddingCC7

This couple chose to use their science background as the theme for their wedding – which we thought was so cool!  (The bride is a physics engineer at Caltech and the groom is a software engineer at NASA!!)

GushwaWeddingCC8

Our salad orbs really fit the cool look of this wedding and we loved that they mixed all sort of cool items for the centerpieces.  For example, some of the items were plasma globes, hand boilers, a kinetic perpetual motion toy, an abacus, cubes made from floppy disks, a dosimeter, and, of course, beakers for floral vases!

GushwaWeddingCC9

We loved the buffet at this wedding and since it was a winter wedding, we served heartier selections like Roasted Fingerling Potatoes, House Made Orange Rolls, and Pomegranate Cranberry Glazed Chicken Breast with Arugula and Carrot Ribbon Salad.  YUM!

GushwaWeddingCC10

GushwaWeddingCC11

We loved how DIY this couple got!  One of their favors were Hot Chocolate servings in test tubes!  The couple also decided to have an ice cream sundae bar and cookies for dessert.  Love it!

GushwaWeddingCC12

We loved how different and unique this wedding was!  So fun!  And remember to check out the post at DIY Weddings Mag too!  Happy planning everyone!

A Dreamy Spring Brunch Inspiration Shoot!

By | Culinary Crafts Events, Every Day Life at Culinary Crafts, Featured: Culinary Crafts in the Press, Modern Wedding Style, Hot Tips for Cool Brides, Parties, Vendor Love!, Wedding Trends | No Comments

Today on the blog, I wanted remember a simply DREAMY spring inspiration shoot Culinary Crafts’s did – and it’s making me wish for warmer weather!  This shoot was SO much fun and we had a blast figuring out our menu.  Brunch + Tiny Bites =  Awesome!  Check it out!

DreamySpringFood2016_01

Firstly, how great is this vintage dresser from Susan’s Party Rentals?  Such a perfect place to showcase these pretty brunch bites!

DreamySpringFood2016_02

Of course, we start with a pretty beverage to whet your whistle!  We poured up some Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice Shooters garnished with Honeydew and Mint.  Such a fresh and delicious way to dress up traditional orange juice!

DreamySpringFood2016_03

Little French Toastettes?  Don’t mind it I do!  Couple that with a side of Culinary Crafts’s house made syrup and our Sea Salt Butter and you’ve got heaven on a plate.  Yum!

DreamySpringFood2016_04

Of course the fresh berries just made the French Toastettes even sweeter.  Plus, isn’t the bride’s Bree Lena Designs gown so pretty and fun?  LOVE!

DreamySpringFood2016_06

Next on the menu? Well, what’s a brunch without Eggs Benedict?  But, in true Culinary Crafts’s style, we brought three different takes on this iconic brunch bite.  The first one was a Traditional Benedict with a bit of Fresh Spinach and Hollandaise, topped with a piece of fried spinach.  Isn’t it lovely?

DreamySpringFood2016_07

Next, we have a Lobster Eggs Benedict.  Gorgeous and decadent – a perfect match!

DreamySpringFood2016_05

Lastly, we served a Braised Short Rib Eggs Benedict which was AH-MAZING.  Such a great pairing and totally unique!

DreamySpringFood2016_08

This drop dead gorgeous tablescape was all furnished by Susan’s Party Rentals and paired beautifully with the stunning florals by Calie Rose. Loved this stunning spring palette and how great is the floral chandelier?  One of my favorite trends, for sure!

DreamySpringFood2016_09

How pretty was the menu by West End Girl?  And we love the unexpected twist of it being printed as a square on the 45 degree angle.  Plus, the place settings matched just perfectly!  And I love the silk bow accents on the plates too!

DreamySpringFood2016_10

Such a dreamy portrait of this gorgeous bride!  Kristina Curtis Photography captured it perfectly!

DreamySpringFood2016_11

I said before that this Bree Lena Designs gown was pretty, but now that you can see it in all of it’s glory, I think we can all agree it’s jaw dropping!

DreamySpringFood2016_12

To put the icing on this dreamy spring cake, of course there were a pair of beautiful bunnies who joined us.  Aren’t they cute?  This shoot was SOOOO much fun and we are so glad that Kristina Curtis asked us to be a part of it!  Happy brunching, everyone!

Utah Bride Blog’s 2016 Spring Editorial Feature: The Food

By | Culinary Crafts Events, Event Tips and Planning, Every Day Life at Culinary Crafts, Featured: Culinary Crafts in the Press, Food, Modern Wedding Style, Hot Tips for Cool Brides, Sharing the Love -Vendor and Client Relationships, Vendor Love!, Venues We Love, Wedding Trends | No Comments

Today, it’s all about the food from the Utah Bride Blog Spring Editorial Shoot!  Culinary Crafts has SO much fun putting together a menu that perfectly played off of FUSE Weddings and Events’s amazing spring design concept.  Check it out!

UBB_Food

First, we just have to remind you how BEAUTIFUL this tablescape is!  Plus, isn’t Salt Lake Hardware Building a great venue?  One of our favs, for sure!

UBB_Food2

Great mix of polished and raw elements.  Plus the green and white palette is a perfect fit for spring and I love how the black pops in the napkins add depth.

UBB_Food3

I love this arbor design!  Decoration Inc always makes such a gorgeous floral design and this one was seriously a show stopper!

UBB_Food4

The butler-passed hors d’oeuvres add another pop of spring color by using a watermelon radish instead of the typical crostini bread.  Add local goat cheese and honey with chive and that’s all you need to create this refreshing and crisp appetizer. Plus, we always want to make sure there’s a pretty cocktail to serve too!  Herbal cocktails are one of my favorite new trends and a garnish of fresh rosemary and mint in this lime gin concoction is the perfect drink to showcase to the freshness of spring!

UBB_Food5

Of course, there is more food too!  Our seasonal spring salad is shaved asparagus and fennel garnished with sliced strawberries, candied walnuts, and micro greens.  To give the white bistro plates a pop, a pretty pink beet dijon vinaigrette is served on the base.  Such a pretty presentation!

UBB_Food6

In addition, a simple crusty mini baguette is elevated to “wedding dinner” status by wrapping it in white parchment paper, black and white twine, and emphasizing spring with a single rose bud.  We love this extra special touch to make a baguette something a little more than meets the eye!

Culinary Crafts loved being a part of this shoot and it was so much fun to be a part of such a stellar vendor team!  Thank you to Utah Bride Blog for letting us participate!  Happy planning, everyone!

This inspiration shoot was AMAZING and not only is Culinary Crafts excited to share it because it’s just GORGEOUS, but we also had the pleasure of teaming up with Leslie Dawn Events and Utah Valley Bride Magazine, to create this ultra romantic “Enchanted Evening”!  Check it out!

EnchantedEveningCC

The gorgeous color palette consisting of deep, moody blues and purples with striking pops of copper through out.  Such a pretty combo!

EnchantedEveningCC2

How pretty are these menus from West End Girl?!  It perfectly pulls in the blues and plays off the copper table settings beautifully.

EnchantedEveningCC3

Love, love, love the blue stemware  and copper votives.

EnchantedEveningCC4EnchantedEveningCC5

Culinary Crafts made a sophisticated salad of Mesclen greens, pears, candied walnuts, and Stilton cheese with a balsamic vinaigrette that tied into the table design amazingly.

EnchantedEveningCC6

We also coupled with our pumpkin flat bread and black pepper brioche for a tasty bread pairing for this simply beautiful meal.

EnchantedEveningCC7

This shoot allowed us to create some of our prettiest desserts to match this stunning palette!  Seriously, so much fun to create this menu!

EnchantedEveningCC8

First up, our Petite Olive Oil and Wine Cakes topped with Sugared Violets and our Lovely Petite Lemon Pudding Cakes with Fresh Berries.  Yum!

EnchantedEveningCC9

And, we didn’t stop there!  We also served Pistachio and Blackberry Macarons and Lavender and Rosemary Shortbreads.

EnchantedEveningCC11

And last, but certainly not least, this decadent dish is our Bete Noir with Amarina Gelato, Spun Sugar, Berry Coulis and Chocolate Drizzle.  SOOOOO good.
