A Pretty, Pink Baby Shower at the Provo Library!

By | Culinary Crafts Events, Event Tips and Planning, Food, Parties | No Comments

As I’m sure all of you know, it’s Mother’s Day this weekend!  All of us here at Culinary Crafts love this holiday, and in honor of this amazing day, we are showing off this gorgeous event which happens to be a beautiful baby shower for a gorgeous mother-to-be (how perfect is that?)  Check it out!

This pretty, pastel color palette was a great choice for this event and this venue – The Provo Library!  (Plus, even the carpet coordinated!)

Isn’t this photo op corner fun?!  We love the vintage chair, ribbon backdrop, and gorgeous florals.  The fun earring favors were a great addition to the event too!

Perfect brunch inspiration right here! The whimsical polka-dotted plate, gold accents, pink linens, and bright florals come together to create a gorgeous, feminine table that any mother (or mother-to-be) would love!

Brunch was made for Baby Showers AND Mother’s Day!  We brought out AAAAALL the brunch favorites for this shower!  So yummy!

Our Local Farm Greens, Feta, Walnuts, and Cranberry Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette is always a guest favorite!

For those who like to add a bit of a sweet to their plate, we served Raspberry Lemon and Mascarpone Crepes as well as Yogurt Parfaits with Fresh Berries!  So good!

We love adding an action station element to our buffets!  So, a carving station with Honey, Cherry, and Balsamic Glazed Ham was a perfect fit for this brunch menu!

What brunch is complete without Hash Browns or our House Made Spinach and Vegetable Quiche?  Yum!

House made pastries?  Yes please!  Bagels, Croissants, and Blueberry Scones gave the guests choices for their perfect plate.

Last but not least, our decadent Southern Biscuits and Sausage Gravy was another great option in this AMAZING brunch buffet!

Of course, a party wouldn’t be a party with out dessert!  This pretty dessert display was so lovely!

Love this signage!  And how pretty is this naked cake!  (Plus, it was DELICIOUS!)

Gold-accented French Macarons, Milk and White Chocolate Mousse Cups, and Tiramisu Shooters were the cute (and scrumptious) dessert offerings!

More pretty details from this beautiful room!  We love the feminine gold signage!

This event was SO much fun!  We hope you loved it and are inspired to create an out-of-this-world brunch for your Mother’s Day celebrations this weekend!  Happy planning, everyone!

Our signature House Made Strawberry Shortcakes were a guest favorite!  We love this dessert and it was perfect for this spring wedding.

Isn’t this invitation suite beautiful? Lovely stationary design by Alex Fairchild and calligraphy by Kelle McCarter!

This bridal party is perfectly matched!  We love the blue and pink palette!

Another calligraphic gem by Kelle McCarter, we love these place cards!  Another great element?  The lavender cones that were passed to guests to shower the couple at their send off!

Isn’t Stone Hill Lodge Estate beautiful?  We love it’s rustic elegance and isn’t this tablescape to die for?  L’Arrangement Floral nailed the florals and the rentals from Diamond Rental and linens from La Tavola Fine Linens came together just perfectly!

How amazing is this cake and macaron display from the talented Flour and Flourish?  LOVE IT!  And the crowns were a favorite detail, for sure!

Today, in honor of the first day of spring yesterday, Culinary Crafts is so thrilled to share this dreamy Lavender, Love and Honey editorial with a gorgeous spring palette that should get all of you excited for the upcoming season!  (Side note, you may recognize this shoot from the glossy pages of Utah Valley Bride magazine!!!)  The vendor team was truly extraordinary including Kristina Curtis Photography who’s photos were STUNNING!  Check it out!

Isn’t this setting GORGEOUS?!  And the design by Leslie Dawn Events was seriously breathtaking!  It was truly our pleasure to spend the day at Young Living Lavender Farm!

Calie Rose is a floral magician!  The flowers totally tied in with the lavender fields without overwhelming the surroundings or fading into the background.  Such a beautiful addition!

Our Lavender Lemonade with a Candied Ginger Lemon Wheel is always hit and was the perfect beverage to serve for this shoot!

We chose to serve a light lunch/brunch type foods to keep with the light feel of the shoot.  Our House-Made Whole Wheat Bread with Clove Honey Spread was the perfect light, yet delicious, comfort food!

How cute are these Limoncello favors?  We loved the calligraphy favor tags from Karli Noel Calligraphy and the little hand stoppered bottles.  SO fun!

This bike was SOOOO cool!  We loved the whimsical element it added to the shoot – and isn’t a perfect shade of spring yellow?  Love it!  Plus, our bride was such a natural beauty!

I love this photo and couldn’t help but share it!  I think it definitely encapsulated the fun, beautiful and spring-like vibes the team was trying to create!

Another shot of our signature Lavender Lemonade.  We love it, plus isn’t the bride’s amethyst ring from designer By Angeline amazing?  Love the organic feel of it!

This cake by our friends at Flour and Flourish was beautiful as well as delicious!  We loved the use of candied lemon and lavender as the minimal decoration.  And, I have to say, it paired with our Lavender Lemonade amazingly!

The simple and elegant menu with more calligraphy by Karli Noel Calligraphy and the eclectic place settings were such a dream.  Plus, we love the soft pink of the glassware.  All around, this table was stunning!

Wasn’t this a perfect way to welcome spring?  We thought so!  Thank you again to the entire vendor team for putting together an AMAZING day and thank you to Utah Valley Bride for featuring it in their 2017 issue!  Happy spring, everyone!

A Wedding With A Patriotic Twist!

By | Culinary Crafts Events, Event Tips and Planning, Featured: Culinary Crafts in the Press, Food, Holiday Parties, Modern Wedding Style, Hot Tips for Cool Brides, Parties, Venues We Love | No Comments

You know, all of us here at Culinary Crafts think Utah is a great place to live.  We have BEAUTIFUL surroundings, GREAT people, and some of the most AMAZING weddings anywhere!  Plus, there’s an added bonus in July.  It isn’t just time for one fireworks-filled celebration, the 4th of July, but we get to have a second festive holiday celebration for Pioneer Day!  Well, we want to inspire you to bring a extra level of awesome to any Pioneer Day events you might be hosting this weekend by showcasing this stunning wedding – with a twist of festive, patriotic flair!

CC_LizLee

Firstly, remember what I was saying about Utah’s beautiful surroundings?  Well, Aspen Meadows is breathtaking!  It was such a lovely place to host this wedding!

CC_LizLee2

We love the subtle hints of Americana and love the couple’s choice to bring a bit of romance and balance to the red, white, and blue palette with pops of pink instead of bright reds.  Such a pretty decor!

CC_LizLee3

Next, we created drink to fit with the patriotic theme like the Strawberry and Blueberry Mojitos!  We loved that the fruit added a delicious touch – but was a super fun “patriotic” detail as well!

CC_LizLee4

Isn’t this a pretty site for a cocktail hour?  We love that the tables weren’t competing with the already present natural beauty.  Also, using the taller tables encourages people to mix and mingle – which is great idea for any event!

CC_LizLee5

While the interior had hints of the patriotic palette – and definitely a gorgeously, romantic vibe – the outside was a place that we took the theme over-the-top!  From this fun red, white, and blue teepee (which the kids LOVED) to the patriotic pillows on the luxe white lounge furniture.  It was the perfect way to amp up the theme!

CC_LizLee6

Of course, we made sure to serve some truly delicious eats.  The couple wanted to keep with a more casual menu with an elegant, upscale feel!  The hors d’oeuvres were definitely a reflection of that.  Yum!!!

CC_LizLee7

Such a pretty day for a wedding!  We loved putting the dinner buffet just outside the dining area – another great way to tie in the beautiful surroundings!

CC_LizLee8

We kept the romantic, yet casual, vibe going through dinner – and it was scrumptious!

CC_LizLee9

To kick off the buffet, we served some gorgeous sides like the Mixed Baby Greens Salad with Feta, Berries, Toasted Almonds, & Vanilla Bean Vinaigrette; Roasted Potatoes with Herb Salsa; and Fresh Mozzarella, Basil & Grape Tomatoes Salad.  Light and fresh – perfect for a summer party!

CC_LizLee10

Next, we get to the main courses!  House Made Corn Bread with a Sprinkle of Paprika, served with Honey Butter; Grilled Chicken with Herb & Chili Rub; and finally our AMAZING Barbecued Short Ribs.  Seriously delicious!

CC_LizLee11

Another festive touch for this party?  Fire pits which just beckoned the guests to get outside and hang out.  LOVE!

CC_LizLee12

Of course, since we have fire pits (and it’s summer), we just had to have a S’mores Bar complete with Hershey’s Chocolate, Graham Crackers, and Culinary Crafts Signature House Made Marshmallows!  The guests LOVED this!

CC_LizLee13

And, lastly, the bride and groom selected this AMAZING American flag ‘cake pop’ cake for dessert which had to be my FAVORITE detail of the whole day!  It was so fun and so festive.  A perfect touch for this wedding with a patriotic twist!

We loved this wedding so much and think it has so much to inspire you in planning your parties and BBQs for this holiday weekend!  Happy planning, everyone!

An Elegant Culinary Crafts Wedding at Abravanel Hall!

By | Culinary Crafts Events, Event Tips and Planning, Every Day Life at Culinary Crafts, Food, Modern Wedding Style, Hot Tips for Cool Brides, Parties, Vendor Love!, Venues We Love, Wedding Trends | No Comments

Now, I know that we here at Culinary Crafts have been all about BBQs lately – and who can blame us?  It’s summer!  BUUUUT, we just got this wedding back from Jalene Taylor Photography and we could not wait to share it with you all.  Check it out!

ChardWeddingCC

Oh, and did I mention that this stunning wedding took place at Abravanel Hall?  How cool is that?  We simply love this place as a venue!

ChardWeddingCC2

And, how cute is this couple?!  We also LOVE their custom monogram.  So perfect for the feel of the space!

ChardWeddingCC3

This event was so elegant and sophisticated.  Gold chivari chairs?  Check!  A palate of black, white, gold, and pops of coral-y pinks?  Check!  Flowers by Julie Prince Flowers?  Check! So pretty!

ChardWeddingCC4

Culinary Crafts had so much fun with this menu.  We had three stations with completely different offerings, 2 of which were awesome action stations!  The first, a delicious trio of “martini” salads!  Yum!

ChardWeddingCC5

This ‘Chilean” Martini Salad was garnished with Tomato, Onion, Avocado, Feta, Arugula, and a Lemon Garlic Vinaigrette.  So yummy!

ChardWeddingCC6

Next we  had a play on a potato salad with Roasted Potatoes, Red Onion, Pancetta, Carrot, and Frisée – plus, of course, we paired it with house-made Parmesan Breadsticks.

ChardWeddingCC7

Lastly, but certainly not least, we served an ‘Israeli’ Martini Salad with Romaine, Red Pepper, Couscous, Cucumber, Scallion, Mint, and a Honey Vinaigrette.  Lovely!

ChardWeddingCC8

At this elegant occasion, we had to step up the beverages to match!  So, we served a selection of Ginger Pomegranate Ade, Lime Mint Mojito, Pineapple Rosemary Spritzer, and Water infused with Fresh Fruits.  Isn’t it so colorful and pretty?

ChardWeddingCC9

The next action station included a trio of sliders!  My favorite!  First up?  We served Pulled Turkey Sliders with Parmesan Rosemary House Kettle Chips.

ChardWeddingCC10

Next, a Pulled Pork Slider paired with Chipotle Lime House Kettle Chips and also the ‘Americana’ Beef Slider with Parmesan Black Pepper House Kettle Chips.  The guests LOVED the variety of the offerings!  Plus, who doesn’t love a slider?

ChardWeddingCC11

We love the inherent beauty of Abravanel Hall!  The Olympic Tower glass statue is seriously SO amazing!

ChardWeddingCC12ChardWeddingCC13

Last, of course there was a bevvy of beautiful desserts!  And we are so happy to have been able to showcase them on this sequined linen – seriously, such a great way to accent a space!  Plus, isn’t the cake so pretty?

ChardWeddingCC14

We were all about variety at this wedding!  So, of course, there were a bunch of desserts, including Mini Key Lime Pies and Chocolate Truffle Fudge Cake.  Mmmm…

ChardWeddingCC15

Aren’t these S’mores in a Jar the cutest?!  Seriously, so YUMMY.

ChardWeddingCC16

We also served Chocolate Dipped Coconut Macaroons and Mini Strawberry Shortcakes!  Decisions, decisions…  🙂

ChardWeddingCC17

We loved being a part of Danielle and William’s timeless and elegant wedding!  It was an AMAZING day and we loved all of the creative eats we got to serve!  Hopefully, this inspires you to have some fun with your wedding menu, even at an elegant fête like this one!  Happy planning, everyone!

DreamySpringFood2016_01

Firstly, how great is this vintage dresser from Susan’s Party Rentals?  Such a perfect place to showcase these pretty brunch bites!

DreamySpringFood2016_02

Of course, we start with a pretty beverage to whet your whistle!  We poured up some Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice Shooters garnished with Honeydew and Mint.  Such a fresh and delicious way to dress up traditional orange juice!

DreamySpringFood2016_03

Little French Toastettes?  Don’t mind it I do!  Couple that with a side of Culinary Crafts’s house made syrup and our Sea Salt Butter and you’ve got heaven on a plate.  Yum!

DreamySpringFood2016_04

Of course the fresh berries just made the French Toastettes even sweeter.  Plus, isn’t the bride’s Bree Lena Designs gown so pretty and fun?  LOVE!

DreamySpringFood2016_06

Next on the menu? Well, what’s a brunch without Eggs Benedict?  But, in true Culinary Crafts’s style, we brought three different takes on this iconic brunch bite.  The first one was a Traditional Benedict with a bit of Fresh Spinach and Hollandaise, topped with a piece of fried spinach.  Isn’t it lovely?

This drop dead gorgeous tablescape was all furnished by Susan’s Party Rentals and paired beautifully with the stunning florals by Calie Rose. Loved this stunning spring palette and how great is the floral chandelier?  One of my favorite trends, for sure!

DreamySpringFood2016_09

How pretty was the menu by West End Girl?  And we love the unexpected twist of it being printed as a square on the 45 degree angle.  Plus, the place settings matched just perfectly!  And I love the silk bow accents on the plates too!

DreamySpringFood2016_10

Such a dreamy portrait of this gorgeous bride!  Kristina Curtis Photography captured it perfectly!

DreamySpringFood2016_11

I said before that this Bree Lena Designs gown was pretty, but now that you can see it in all of it’s glory, I think we can all agree it’s jaw dropping!

Repost from Strictly Weddings: Equestrian Wedding Dreams for the Gold N’ Glam

By | Culinary Crafts Events, Event Tips and Planning, Every Day Life at Culinary Crafts, Featured: Culinary Crafts in the Press, Modern Wedding Style, Hot Tips for Cool Brides, Sharing the Love -Vendor and Client Relationships, Trendy Tuesday, Vendor Love!, Venues We Love, Wedding Trends | No Comments
Culinary Crafts is so honored to share this feature from Strictly Weddings of one of our most gorgeous inspiration shoots of all time!!! Check it out!
Equestrian Wedding Dreams for the Gold N’ Glam

Equestrian wedding dreams are not just for the little girls who once wished for a pony. Chic farm style fetes are one of the hottest trends any season of the year. Today’s feature focuses on inspiration that comes in all shapes and sizes including the four-legged variety. A vision of cabernet and gold, bubbly champagne, too pretty to eat cakes, Utah’s beautiful Red Cliff Ranch scenery blended with a formal equestrian flair is all artfully captured by photographer Pepper Nix.

Gold N’ Glam Appeal

A variety of pink and red hues, fused with gold and black present a more formal mood and eloquently create something unexpected. Moving away from a country feel this talented group of wedding and event vendors capitalized on rich textures and luscious color tones. Sit back and take in the beauty of this fine affair – you will forget that you are looking at a styled shoot. Immediately drawn in by its equestrian wedding Gold N’ Glam appeal!

A Fusion of Cabernet and Gold

Not shying away from the growing popular use of gold, chairs, fine textured linens, flatware and goblets glistened in the metallic hue. To accent this royal theme a hint of cabernet chargers and red napkins were used to offset and provide a deeper opulence. A lace and silk swag draped the doors of the ranch stable for a grand entrance. While Studio Stems translated their floral creations into a traditional and formal style, keeping top-of-mind how the flower vessels would interact with the overall vibe and theme. First using a wide based rustic gold urn to hold a rich and contrasting ensemble of blooms. To help the table move with all its elements cohesively, they incorporated small antique gold glass cylinders and bowls with small arrangements as satellites around the main centerpiece. Studio Stem incorporated many of the same blooms used in the bridal bouquet for cohesiveness with the addition of red tulips, geranium leaf, plumose, rambling spray roses, and one large focal bloom in the form of a giant blush protea.

Farm Fresh to Table

Culinary Crafts who presented oysters on the half shelf topped with black sturgeon caviar set the air of fine cuisine. To utilize the idea of farm fresh to table, flavors of unadorned lump crab and bell pepper duxelle combined with a bite of heirloom cherry tomato would be passed to start the meal. In the cooler months, a warm soup course over cold salad for a truly formal dinner would be served. The rich golden color of the butternut soup suited perfectly to the tablescape. The cider cream and toasted pepitos (pumpkin seeds) garnished the top. We love the simple white porcelain bowl that allows the soup to shine on the red and gold place setting.

Ganache and Gold

Moving away from the traditional single wedding cake, a small ornate gold wedding cake acted as the centerpiece to Layers Cake Company dessert table. Petite black cakes added a bit of dramatic contrast to the dessert table. What could be more stunning than black ganache cakes with edible gold glitter?

Chic Rustic Elements

Autumn offers florist the opportunity to move away from blush, ivory, and other light tones and to work with some lush and vivacious color. Studio Stem implemented those soft light blooms of the warmer season for the bridal bouquet, but layered in the contrast of stronger colors like pinks, reds, and greens. Elegant large blooms of the dahlia in both the blush and a strong bold red were used to create a big bloom focus. The mood and the feeling of the ranch is embraced by a few rustic elements like the maiden hair fern, viburnum berry, smilax vine, and a touch of gold with the magnolia leaf wrapped in an antique gold satin.

Four-Legged Bridal Party

What equestrian wedding inspiration is complete without the addition of a gorgeous pure bread horse? Joining the bridal entourage, Studio Stem created a custom smilax vine necklace with an off set cluster of dahlias, spray roses, and ranucs to adorn this beautiful creature with a few extra blooms beautifying the stallion’s long tail.

Rustic Glam Bridal Style

The bride wore Junko Yoshioka’s “Michelle” mermaid gown from Avenia Bridal. Ivory cotton and silk twill fabric gives this gown the thickness and structure that is perfect for fall! We love the unique fluted bodice detail and flounced train that adds softness to the opulent fabric and design. The mix of textures is a big trend and simply stunning for today’s bride. Washington Millinery ivory gloves added elegance and sophistication reminiscent of the Kentucky Derby style. They come just below the elbow for a lady-like, but not overdone look. Signature Brides started with long soft curls down the back for the bridal hair, gradually making them tighter toward her fringe. The front was brushed out to give a soft wave. A wide braid around the back of the hairstyle swept the curls to one side, pinning the center of the curls up to create the illusion of less length in the front to accentuate the bride’s neckline and the top of the dress. Richards Design headband is perfect for the bride deciding between a veil or unique hairpiece; it has a birdcage veil as well as a floral/feathered fascinator accented with horsehair bands. Signature Brides used soft colors for the eyes using shades of gold and pink with dark browns in the corners and a touch of black in the crease for definition. Bold red lipstick and black mascara with individual false lashes completed this subtle yet glamorous equestrian look. Standing beside the gorgeous bride, the groom wore a Genesis fitted tuxedo from Mr. Mac with an “O” button, single-breasted styling and side-vented back. Tailored in soft, luxurious Super 100’s wool that featured a satin notch lapel and satin double besom pockets. The bride’s ring was 18K white and rose gold two tone by Makur Designs from Goldsmith Jewelers with a show-stopping 1.26-carat pink emerald in the center surrounded by .49-carat total weight in diamonds. The groom’s ring is 14K white and rose gold two-tone men’s wedding band. A rare rose pearl necklace where each pearl was handpicked and matched was wrapped around the bride’s wrist to create a layered bracelet look.

Leather and Lace

A rough horse head sketched out during the evening hours in Ann Elizabeth Custom Graphic Design & Printing Studio’s “Leather and Lace” notepad was the first step toward the inspiration of the paper suite. The rich and decadent touch of leather is how the leather strands that wrap around the main invitation became part of the design. The leather square over the leather strands was the perfect opportunity to introduce the horse head monogram for the set. Lace layers on the invitation softened the leather and give the piece balance between hard and soft elements. The menu featured all of the best matching details. A small piece of the leather strand and a band of lace lay across the menu top. Consistency and attention to details all the way through a bride’s paper suite, from save the date to the wedding date, are personal touches guests notice.

Equestrian Wedding Dream

To capture all the beauty of this equestrian wedding dream, Ryan Hinman Films was on hand to bring the day into motion.
Bravo, everyone! We are more than inspired.
