A Wedding With A Patriotic Twist!

You know, all of us here at Culinary Crafts think we get to host some of the most AMAZING weddings!  We especially love events that have a twist on a theme and this one is a favorite for sure.  Plus, it is perfect inspiration for any of the 4th of July events you might be hosting this upcoming weekend.  So, without further ado, let’s get to showcasing this stunning wedding – with a twist of festive, patriotic flair!

Aspen Meadows is breathtaking, don’t you think?  It was such a lovely place to host this breathtaking wedding!

We love the subtle hints of Americana and love the couple’s choice to bring a bit of romance and balance to the red, white, and blue palette with pops of pink instead of bright reds.  Such a pretty decor!

Next, we created drink to fit with the patriotic theme like the Strawberry and Blueberry Mojitos!  We loved that the fruit added a delicious touch – but was a super fun “patriotic” detail as well!

Isn’t this a pretty site for a cocktail hour?  We love that the tables weren’t competing with the surrounding natural beauty.  Also, using the taller tables encourages people to mix and mingle – which is great idea for any event!

While the interior had hints of the patriotic palette – and definitely a gorgeously, romantic vibe – the outside was a place that we took the theme over-the-top!  From this fun red, white, and blue teepee (which the kids LOVED) to the patriotic pillows on the luxe white lounge furniture.  It was the perfect way to amp up the theme!

Of course, we made sure to serve some truly delicious eats.  The couple wanted to keep with a more casual menu with an elegant, upscale feel!  The hors d’oeuvres were definitely a reflection of that.  Yum!!!

Such a pretty day for a wedding!  We loved putting the dinner buffet just outside the dining area – another great way to tie in the beautiful surroundings!

We kept the romantic, yet casual, vibe going through dinner – and it was scrumptious!

To kick off the buffet, we served some gorgeous sides like the Mixed Baby Greens Salad with Feta, Berries, Toasted Almonds, & Vanilla Bean Vinaigrette; Roasted Potatoes with Herb Salsa; and Fresh Mozzarella, Basil & Grape Tomatoes Salad.  Light and fresh – perfect for a summer party!

Next, we get to the main courses!  House Made Corn Bread with a Sprinkle of Paprika, served with Honey Butter; Grilled Chicken with Herb & Chili Rub; and finally our AMAZING Barbecued Short Ribs.  Seriously delicious!

Another festive touch for this party?  Fire pits which just beckoned the guests to get outside and hang out.  LOVE!

Of course, since we have fire pits (and it’s a summer party), we just had to have our S’mores Bar complete with Hershey’s Chocolate, Graham Crackers, and Culinary Crafts Signature House Made Marshmallows!  The guests LOVED this fun station!

And, lastly, the bride and groom chose to have this AMAZING American flag ‘cake pop’ cake for dessert which had to be my FAVORITE detail of the whole day!  It was so fun and so festive – a perfect touch for this patriotic wedding!

Romantic, Organic Red Cliff Ranch Wedding

Today, I have a GORGEOUS wedding to share with you – and, since we are approaching Memorial Day weekend – it boasts a fabulous menu that can easily inspire your weekend get togethers!  This was such a beautiful event and the food was so fun as well as delicious (of course)!  We loved the couple’s choice to serve some classic summer BBQ favorites, as well as some surprises.  Thank you to Kate Benson for the fabulous photographs!  Check it out!

Red Cliff Ranch is one of our favorite venues!  We always love hosting events there.

How pretty is this tablescape?!  We love the pink glassware that adds a touch of romance to the rustic table and the organic feel of the garland runner.  So pretty!

How cute are these horse favors?  Each guest was welcomed to their seat with one of these cuties.  Love all of the small details at this event!

Of course, we make sure that all of the guests have some fabulous beverage options – and this event was no exception!  We served fresh fruit infused waters (always a crowd favorite) as well as Mojitos!  We love the aspen bark paper straws in the Mojitos as well.  Such a great touch!

To tie in with the casual feel of this event, the couple chose to host a grand buffet – and, boy, was it delicious.  Guests got a front row seat to the yummy eats and we loved seeing how excited they were to dig in!

This menu is chock full of BBQ inspiration!  Case in point, our entrees were grilled on site and would be perfect at any event.  We served our Grilled Salmon Filet with Lemon Slices and Caper Sauce and our Mesquite-Grilled Flank Steak with Chimichurri Sauce – YUM!

Another grilled dish?  Our Mesquite-Grilled Summer Vegetables.  Plus, our Caprese Salad with Heirloom Tomatoes, Local Mozzarella Cheese, and a Balsamic Glaze was a perfect addition to this summer-y menu!

Another classic dish?  Mary’s Macaroni & Cheese, which is always a star side dish!

Of course, we didn’t stop at the grand buffet.  We also hosted a Mashed Potato Bar action station where guests could create over-the-top mashed potatoes.  Such a fun way to entertain your guests and a great alternative to the  sliders and fries bars that it seems that are everywhere these days.  This is definitely a way to make your event unique!  Love it.

Isn’t the bride so beautiful?  Such a doll!  Mary always has such a great connection with our clients and it really shows – especially when Culinary Crafts is there to make their event even more perfect!

We didn’t forget dessert – I know you were wondering…  😉  For this menu, our Fresh Fruit Cobbler action station was PERFECT!  We hand scooped Culinary Crafts’ House Made Vanilla Bean Gelato on our cobblers – we served 3, yes 3, different kinds!

Our peach, berry, and apple cobblers were SOOOOO good.  You definitely had to have one of each!

Isn’t the station set up pretty too?  We love adding simple touches that really add something extra to all of our stations.  To tie in the rustic feel of this event, we simply added wood stump slices which added visual interest AND pretty details!

The couple chose to have a Gourmet Popcorn Bar for their favors where guests could choose from 3 flavors – plus they custom made cute little bags for the guests to take home their treats!  The bride and groom each chose their own personal favorite and then the third flavor was their combined favorite – so fun!  ‘His’ was a Chili Lime popcorn, ‘Hers’ was a Cookies & Cream popcorn, and the ‘Ours’ flavor was the Bacon Bourbon Caramel popcorn (a personal favorite!)  YUM!

Last but not least, no ranch wedding would be complete without a S’mores Bar!  So, of course, we served this classic take with our House Made marshmallows!

This wedding was so beautiful and we loved the fun menu we were able to create!  We hope that this inspires you to create some fun BBQ menus of your own for Memorial Day weekend!  Happy planning, everyone!

A Romantic, Destination Wedding at the Gallivan Center Plaza!

Today, on the blog, we have a STUNNING wedding that Culinary Crafts had the pleasure of working on last summer with our friends, FUSE Weddings & Events!  This wedding absolutely transformed the Gallivan Center Plaza into a romantic getaway for the couple’s guests!  The couple, who reside in Wyoming, wanted to host a wedding in Salt Lake City because the majority of their family lives here.  They also wanted to create a gorgeous experience that was still casual with local comfort food and lots of lounge seating so their guests could let their hair down and enjoy the celebration – and I have to say, FUSE knocked it out of the park!  Check it out!  And thank you to Lindsey Shaun for the beautiful photos!

Have you ever seen the Gallivan Center Plaza look so magical?  We haven’t either – but boy, was it breathtaking!  And the florals by Soil and Stem sent this event over the top!

I couldn’t resist sharing another shot of this gorgeous set up and the amazing lounge furniture that the bride wanted so their guests could relax.  So lovely!

I love the centerpieces and the geode table numbers are so PRETTY!  Ah-mazing.

How cute is the couple?!  They were so fun and I loved the seating chart was so pretty too.

The bride loves shrimp lettuce wraps – so, of course, we passed those during the cocktail hour and the guests loved them!

Going along with the ‘local, comfort food’ feel of the menu, we served local fruits and cheeses, which were a great snack for guests to grab as they mingled during cocktail hour, and a selection of beers that included some local favorites from Uinta Brewing Co.

Another fun element?  This street taco station where guests could make their own tacos!

A taco bar isn’t complete without chips and salsa!  So, we served a bunch of different salsas, cabbage slaw, and fun, fiesta color chips!  Yum!

 

For the Utah-themed dinner menu, we brought in local meats including skirt steak,which was grilled on-site, with a chimichurri sauce.  Side note, we love having a carving station at events.  Such an elegant addition to the menu!

Again, how gorgeous is this reception space???  SO IN LOVE WITH THIS!

The couple chose to host a buffet of local favorites so guests could grab a bite at their leisure.  This menu was so much fun to put together!

Local Farm Greens with Feta, Raspberries, Toasted Almonds and Raspberry Vinaigrette and Mesquite Chicken (also grilled on site) with Mango Salsa were two of the offerings.  Such great options for warm weather events!

A classic staple at any of our events is our House-Made Artisan Breads with Sea Salt Butter.  Plus, how can you have a ‘comfort-food-centric’ menu without Mary’s Mac N’ Cheese?  The answer is you can’t.  🙂

A beautiful night for a gorgeous wedding!

These hand stamped forks are adorable!  The perfect compliment to the couple’s simple, yet elegant, cake from Flour and Flourish!

Last, but certainly not least, we served our House-Made gelato cones alongside the wedding cake!  A perfect pairing!

A Stunningly Romantic Red Cliff Ranch Wedding!

This warmer weather has the team here at Culinary Crafts jones-ing for summer!  So, with that vibe in mind, today we have a STUNNING Red Cliff Ranch wedding to share with you.  This romantically rustic wedding was full of beautiful touches – and we aren’t surprised because it was expertly planned and designed by one of our favorite vendor partners, FUSE Weddings & Events!  Add in pretty photos from Alixann Loosle Photography  and you have a winning combo!  Check it out!

One of our favorite parts of Red Cliff Ranch is this meadow with the red cliffs (for which is was named) that tower behind the ceremony site.  Such a breathtaking backdrop!

Of course, on this warm summer day, we made sure the guests had a great place to hang out during cocktail hour.  We served beverages and hors d’oeuvres that kept the guests mingling and happy until dinner was served.

Pulled Pork Sliders and  Prociutto Wrapped Utah Peaches were just a couple of the delicious bites our awesome team butler passed to guests!  So yummy!

We also created this AMAZING cheese board with local honey comb!  Such a hit!

A simple, yet elegant, place setting was the perfect addition to this romantic table.  Plus, we love the added touch of Karli Noel‘s handdrawn calligraphy that let guests know where their seat was!

The couple chose to serve the dinner ‘family-style’ which, as you know, Culinary Crafts loves!  We started with Artisan Breads like Black Peppercorn Cheddar, Beer Bread, and Corn Muffins with Utah Sea Salt Crusted Creamery Butters.  We also served Roasted Beet Salad with Snuck Farms Fresh Greens, Goat Cheese, Utah Pistachios & Citrus Honey Vinaigrette; Grilled Sweet Potatoes with Olive Oil, Cracked Pepper, and Sea Salt; Mesquite-Grilled Utah Red Trout with Tomato, Basil and Ricotta Risotto; Chicken Paillard with Napa Salad, Daikon, Mango and Mint; and finally Grilled Skirt Steak Cumin-Coriander Mushrooms, and Parsley Sauce.  SOOO good!

A Rustic, Romantic Wedding: The Food!

As promised, today, we are bringing you the food from this AMAZING wedding we showed you last week!  Check it out, and again, thank you for the amazing photos Logan Walker Photography!

I couldn’t resist starting off this post with another photo of this GORGEOUS tablescape!  Love the rentals from Diamond Rentals, florals from Decoration Inc, and planning from Soiree Productions!  Plus, our delicious house-made breads and artisan butters were a welcome addition to the tables, don’t you think?

To start things off, of course we had passed hors d’oeuvres!  We greeted guests with this Balsamic Glazed Elk Carpaccio that was paired with a mini taste of local Wasatch Brewery‘s Polygamy Porter that complimented the bite perfectly.  We love it when we can do fun pairings like this!

We didn’t stop there!  We also served BLT Stuffed Heirloom Grape Tomatoes, Butternut Squash Lollipops garnished with Pistachios, Lemon Avocado Shrimp Crostini, and Roasted Pheasant with Plum Jam on top of a Granny Smith Apple.  YUM!  Plus, we served amazing slow drip coffee to the guests, which they loved, because they got to see the process of getting the perfect cup!

Of course, the bar was decked out beautifully too!  Not only did we have fun creating the perfect food menu, but we made sure the signature cocktails were up to par too!

Local distillery High West was the choice of spirits to inspire our Signature Cocktail menu!  The couple really wanted to focus on the local Utah food and beverage and we are so lucky to have such a great selection of local vendors.  High West cocktails are always top notch!

The couple chose to serve a plated 4 course menu to their guests that featured local ingredients and sustainable foods.  We were happy to oblige!  First, we served a Locally Grown Spinach and Romaine Salad garnished with Local Pears, Gorgonzola, Candied Almonds, and Dried Cranberries with a Caramelized Onion Balsamic.  Pretty and delicious!

Next, we served Mesquite-Grilled Rocky Mountain Red Trout with Granny Smith Apple Chutney on a bed of Seared Cauliflower, Brussels Sprouts, Tomato Lentils, with Parsley Oil and Micro Greens.  We had to show this dish 2 ways so you could see all of the amazing-ness happening on this plate!

Next, we served an entree of Grass Fed, Locally Raised Beef Tenderloin, Locally Grown Corn Cilantro Risotto, Julienne Vegetables, garnished with Yucca Chips.  And, last but not least, guests were treated to a dessert of Poached Local Pears, Toasted Masala Almond Streusel, and Amaretto Zabaglione.  Such a wonderful meal!!!

As if that meal wouldn’t leave you happy and satiated, we also created a fun dessert display for the guests as they danced the night away.  LOVE!

French Macarons and Chocolate Pot du Creme rounded out the deliciousness on the dessert display.  We LOVED bringing in the natural vibe with edible flowers on the Macarons too!

Another shot of this fun dessert display!  And how pretty are these linens mixed with our pretty wooden serving boards?  And the mercury glass lanterns were AMAZING!

rossiconeweddingfood14Last, but not least, the couple hosted an “after party” for the guests who wanted to keep the party going – and you need fuel to keep dancing the night away, right?  So the couple gave out favors of our House Made Bacon Bourbon Popcorn, as well as an Late Night Bites Bar with Mini Pepperoni Pizzas, Sliders & Fries, and S’mores Cones!  YUM!

We simply LOVED this wedding and had so much fun coming up with this creative and delicious menu!  I hope this inspires you all to get creative with you wedding food too!  Happy planning, everyone!

A Rustic, Romantic Wedding: The Details

Today I have a STUNNING wedding to show you that was over the top beautiful, full of AMAZING food, and the cutest couple ever!  Check it out – and thank you to Logan Walker Photography for the awesome photos!

How pretty is this gown?  And the ceremony florals by Decoration Inc – seriously AMAZING!

To keep with the rustic romantic vibe, these long dark wood tables covered with white lace overlays were a perfect choice.  Paired with the mixed metal flatware, it definitely added a special pop of visual interest to the table settings.  The planning team at Soiree Productions ALWAYS creates the most beautiful events.  And the cake by Carrie’s Cakes was gorgeous!  Love the simple elegance of the organic grapevine accent and cut wood cake base was so PERFECT!

I couldn’t resist sharing this photo!  🙂  Making sure your guests have bathroom options at some of our more rustic ranch venues is a MUST, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make it look so much prettier than a boring white box that you try to hide.  We LOVE the wooden star decorations and Decoration Inc was so smart to dress up the commode with simple boughs of greenery.  Love it!

The private residences at Wolf Creek are full of such great venue options!  This particular residence was awesome and was a great escape away from the city for the wedding guests that was simply chock full of natural beauty!

This space was amazing!  We loved the mixture of Diamond Rentals‘s chairs and tables to create an eclectic and inviting space.  And, as usual, Decoration Inc hit it out of the ballpark with the florals and Soiree Productions‘s planning and design was stellar!  Such a stunning set up!

How about this for cocktail hour entertainment?  This jet’s high flying skills definitely kicked off this celebration right!

A simple addition of a billy button flower with these soft grey napkins were a great pairing with these gorgeous, and fun, menus from Ann Elizabeth!

More pretty spaces from the reception space!  We loved the little lounge spaces that were created throughout the space so that guests could mingle through the night.

I just had to to show you another close up of the flower and tablescape for you, because, I mean, why not?!  It’s so pretty!

The clear tent from Diamond Rental was a perfect choice for this reception!  The guests still felt like they were in the beautiful surroundings and at night, you could see the stars.  Such a great idea for outdoor weddings!

You know, all of us here at Culinary Crafts think Utah is a great place to live.  We have BEAUTIFUL surroundings, GREAT people, and some of the most AMAZING weddings anywhere!  Plus, there’s an added bonus in July.  It isn’t just time for one fireworks-filled celebration, the 4th of July, but we get to have a second festive holiday celebration for Pioneer Day!  Well, we want to inspire you to bring a extra level of awesome to any Pioneer Day events you might be hosting this weekend by showcasing this stunning wedding – with a twist of festive, patriotic flair!

Firstly, remember what I was saying about Utah’s beautiful surroundings?  Well, Aspen Meadows is breathtaking!  It was such a lovely place to host this wedding!

We love the subtle hints of Americana and love the couple’s choice to bring a bit of romance and balance to the red, white, and blue palette with pops of pink instead of bright reds.  Such a pretty decor!

Next, we created drink to fit with the patriotic theme like the Strawberry and Blueberry Mojitos!  We loved that the fruit added a delicious touch – but was a super fun “patriotic” detail as well!

Isn’t this a pretty site for a cocktail hour?  We love that the tables weren’t competing with the already present natural beauty.  Also, using the taller tables encourages people to mix and mingle – which is great idea for any event!

While the interior had hints of the patriotic palette – and definitely a gorgeously, romantic vibe – the outside was a place that we took the theme over-the-top!  From this fun red, white, and blue teepee (which the kids LOVED) to the patriotic pillows on the luxe white lounge furniture.  It was the perfect way to amp up the theme!

Of course, we made sure to serve some truly delicious eats.  The couple wanted to keep with a more casual menu with an elegant, upscale feel!  The hors d’oeuvres were definitely a reflection of that.  Yum!!!

Such a pretty day for a wedding!  We loved putting the dinner buffet just outside the dining area – another great way to tie in the beautiful surroundings!

We kept the romantic, yet casual, vibe going through dinner – and it was scrumptious!

To kick off the buffet, we served some gorgeous sides like the Mixed Baby Greens Salad with Feta, Berries, Toasted Almonds, & Vanilla Bean Vinaigrette; Roasted Potatoes with Herb Salsa; and Fresh Mozzarella, Basil & Grape Tomatoes Salad.  Light and fresh – perfect for a summer party!

Next, we get to the main courses!  House Made Corn Bread with a Sprinkle of Paprika, served with Honey Butter; Grilled Chicken with Herb & Chili Rub; and finally our AMAZING Barbecued Short Ribs.  Seriously delicious!

Another festive touch for this party?  Fire pits which just beckoned the guests to get outside and hang out.  LOVE!

Of course, since we have fire pits (and it’s summer), we just had to have a S’mores Bar complete with Hershey’s Chocolate, Graham Crackers, and Culinary Crafts Signature House Made Marshmallows!  The guests LOVED this!

And, lastly, the bride and groom selected this AMAZING American flag ‘cake pop’ cake for dessert which had to be my FAVORITE detail of the whole day!  It was so fun and so festive.  A perfect touch for this wedding with a patriotic twist!

Rocky Mountain Bride Inspiration Shoot

Today, we have an AMAZING inspiration shoot that we did in collaboration with Leslie Dawn Events and Rocky Mountain Bride for RMB‘s Volume 1 that was released earlier this year!  It was a beautiful, romantic Roaring 20’s style shoot – which was perfectly set at the McCune Mansion.  Bursting with beautiful jewel tones, rich gold, decadent food, and moody romance, and J Fairchild Photography captured it all perfectly!  Check it out!

To start, we love this invitation suite from Foil & Ink with gorgeous calligraphy by Karli Noel Calligraphy.  So pretty!

Now, on to the main event!  Look at this breathtaking tablescape.  I mean, how beautiful is this?!  We love the design by Leslie Dawn Events and the gorgeous florals from Sax Romney.  A perfect pairing, for sure!

The mix n’ matched placesettings were such a great way to add another visual element to the table.  And the place card design fit seamlessly as well.  LOVE!

We had so much fun with this menu!  For starters, we served a Lamb & Mint Pesto Lollipop and an Artichoke Lollipop.  Yum!

Next, we served a cheese and wine pairing featuring a amuse bouche of Bosc Pear, Deer Valley Double Cream Brie, Fresh Thyme, and Fig.  So good!  We also served a Mixed Green Salad with Asian Pears, Candied Walnuts, and Berries in an elegant, vintage-style champagne glass.

Last, but not least, we served Chocolate Mousse Cups with Gold Leafing and a pair of Pistachio Macarons.  And this art deco cake from Flour & Flourish was another AMAZING dessert offering!

For a ‘late-night’ snack we also served Cocktail Shrimp with Gazpacho.  Plus, how pretty is the bar?  Love the draping florals and mirror signage!  So much beauty going on!
