A Elegant, Glam Wedding at the Rice Eccles Tower!

By | Culinary Crafts Events, Event Tips and Planning, Food, Modern Wedding Style, Hot Tips for Cool Brides, Parties, Rice Eccles Stadium & Tower, Venues We Love, Wedding Trends

QUICK NOTE BEFORE WE GET TO TODAY’S BLOG: Thank you to everyone who joined us at the ‘Showdown for Support’ yesterday! It was such a great evening and we loved having you all there to support such a great cause!

As we plunge into cooler temperatures (and then back out, because Utah likes to keep us on our toes), our thoughts turn toward fall and winter weddings and their GORGEOUS color palettes that we love so much.  Today, we have a Culinary Crafts wedding that just screams ‘winter beauty’ with its rich blues and accents of silver.  Pair that with elegant white and blue florals?  Well, I think you’ll see why we love this event so much!  Check it out!

Isn’t this GORGEOUS???  We absolutely LOVED the sequined runners and the navy linens.  So pretty!

Every Blooming Thing‘s elegant florals were so perfect for this wedding!  Plus, isn’t the cake from Carrie’s Cakes AMAZING?

Another gorgeous floral arrangement!  We loved the use of different heights and types of arrangement to create a more visually interesting space.

This couple was so fun!  They gave each table an ‘assignment’ to encourage guests to mingle and share stories about the couple.  Such a fun idea!

How cool is this head table?  The use of the aspens trunks really added some drama to the table design!

Another cool element on these tables were these super chic table numbers!

Now, onto the food – which we thought was pretty amazing, if we do say so ourselves!  Guests were greeted with butler-passed hors d’oeuvres like these Pomme Frites with Aioli Dipping Sauce in bamboo cones.  Yum!

Another shot of these delicious fries, because why not?

Another butler-passed hors d’oeuvres was our Argentinian-Style Chicken Empanadas with Chimichurri Sauce – so good!

The couple chose to serve an amazing buffet which included our Miso-glazed Salmon and, of course, our House Made Breads with Sea Salted Butter!

Along with the Miso-glazed Salmon, we also served Teriyaki Grilled Chicken, Sautéed Zucchini, and Asparagus Risotto with Mascarpone Cream.  Such a decadently delicious winter menu!

Another fun element?  The bride and her mom created this candy table for guests to fill a box to take home as their wedding favor!  We love how pretty it turned out!

We absolutely loved this glam wedding and think the Rice Eccles Tower was the perfect venue!  We hope this inspires all of you with winter events to maybe add a little sparkle to your event!  You won’t be disappointed!  Happy planning, everyone!

Repost of a Culinary Crafts Inspiration Shoot on The Luxe Pearl

FROM MARY CRAFTS:
“The LDW Ranch is one of my favorite exclusive ranches in Utah. I wanted to feature an inspiration shoot at this gorgeous venue but I am over the typical “rustic”, “rustic chic”, and “mountain” weddings we have done for the past decade. As I walked the ranch, the movie: Wild Horses Can’t Be Broken” just kept coming back to me. I fell in love with the blend of this breathtaking mountain setting and the vision of vintage ranches from the 1930’s. Our path was set and this group of talented vendors were off and running to create one of the most romantic and stunning shoots I have ever done. Some of my favorite touches include: the Vintage Ice Tea Bar, Savory Macaroons and Short Breads, the leather place card napkin ties, the perfect pink vintage water goblet, and a chocolate caramel hazelnut tart that you can almost taste from the photo. Each vendor brought a unique addition to create this visual masterpiece for a complete wedding day.”

An Elegant Wedding with a BBQ Inspired Menu!

By | Culinary Crafts Events, Event Tips and Planning, Every Day Life at Culinary Crafts, Featured: Culinary Crafts in the Press, Food, Modern Wedding Style, Hot Tips for Cool Brides, Sharing the Love -Vendor and Client Relationships, Vendor Love!, Venues We Love, Wedding Trends

We hope you enjoyed Culinary Crafts’s casual BBQ event we posted last week, but for all you brides in the midst of planning and thinking that a BBQ maybe isn’t as elegant as you’d like for your wedding, I’m here to say – hold on just a second!  Take a look at this wedding – it was so pretty and elegant and the BBQ inspired food was the perfect accent for the rustic ranch nuptials.  Perfectly captured by Pepper Nix Photography, I think you’ll be inspired to give a BBQ style menu a chance.  Check it out!

BBQ_MannPolistina

Let’s start off this post with this pic of PURE JOY!  We love this couple’s effortless style – such a perfect blend of rustic and polished.

BBQ_MannPolistina2

BBQ_MannPolistina3

Isn’t Red Cliff Ranch stunning?  We LOVE this venue and it was perfect for this casual, yet elegant, wedding!

BBQ_MannPolistina4

Although this was kind of a rainy day, the guests still enjoyed some fun games like Cornhole and Horseshoes.  Who says you can’t have fun in the rain?  Plus, aren’t the beanbags great!?  I love that the couple added their wedding monogram to add a special touch!

BBQ_MannPolistina5

This rustic bar is amazing.  And we LOVE the mason jar that held the fun blue signature drink that the couple picked too!

BBQ_MannPolistina6

How about these appetizers?  Yum!  Such a great variety from the Mini Cordon Bleu to the Short Rib Stuffed Mushrooms and the Pork Belly Bruschetta, there was something for every palette!

BBQ_MannPolistina7

This long dining table was SO pretty and I love how everyone mingles throughout the meal!  Plus, aren’t the florals from Scenemakers GORGEOUS?!  And, the hand painted signs were a great way to inform the guests where to go and add some style to the event!

BBQ_MannPolistina10

What a way to start the meal!  Spinach Romaine Salad with Asian Pears, Gorgonzola, Dried Cranberries, Candied Pecans, and Carmelized Onion Balsamic Dressing.  YUMMY!

BBQ_MannPolistina8

A double entree plated dinner is SO fabulous and such a great way to offer your guests a taste of each option for dinner!  This plate had our Mesquite Grilled Rocky Mountain Trout with Moroccan Tomato Jam and Pan Seared Filet of Beef Tenderloin with Wild Mushroom Chasseur Sauce.  Pair that with Potatoes Dauphine and Bundles of Fresh Roasted Green Beans, and you’ve got yourself a perfect plate!

BBQ_MannPolistina9

I think everyone is enjoying a great meal, don’t you think?  🙂

BBQ_MannPolistina12

Now, the dessert!  We served three different kinds of cake pops, and aren’t they pretty?  Such a great sweet taste of something sweet without having to commit to a big piece of cake if they are full from dinner – or if they want to try them all!

BBQ_MannPolistina13

Aren’t a cake (or cake pop) fan?  Well, we also had a custom popcorn bar for guests with different flavors of gourmet popcorn!  Delicious!

BBQ_MannPolistina11

Another great food-centric detail from this wedding?  The couple chose to give their friends and family gifts of local Cox Honeyland Mountain Honey and little treats.  So fun!

BBQ_MannPolistina14

We love the way that Red Cliff Ranch’s corral lights up at night.  A perfect place for guests to dance the night away.

BBQ_MannPolistina15

We loved every detail of this wedding and are so happy to have been able to share it with you!  Hopefully it inspires all of you out there to try out some fun menu options at your wedding!  We’d love it!  Happy planning, everyone!

Repost from Fab You Bliss: 1930s Luxury Rustic Wedding Inspiration

By | Culinary Crafts Events, Every Day Life at Culinary Crafts, Featured: Culinary Crafts in the Press, Modern Wedding Style, Hot Tips for Cool Brides, Sharing the Love -Vendor and Client Relationships, Vendor Love!, Venues We Love, Wedding Trends

REPOSTED FROM FAB YOU BLISS (A Culinary Crafts Inspiration Shoot Designed and Executed by our very own Mary Crafts-Homer!)

Today’s luxury vintage styled wedding inspiration is filled with details I love seeing in weddings. The delightfully rustic outdoor table and the groom’s debonair brown tweed suit are just two of my faves. Another two loves, the romantic floral creations and the bride’s perfectly pretty vintage styled gown from Alta Moda Bridal Add in the picturesque locale and stunning imagery by Pepper Nix Photography and this shoot is pretty perfect indeed!

A White Brick, Organic Inspiration Shoot!

By | Culinary Crafts Events, Every Day Life at Culinary Crafts, Modern Wedding Style, Hot Tips for Cool Brides, Parties, Sharing the Love -Vendor and Client Relationships, Vendor Love!, Wedding Trends

Today, we here at Culinary Crafts decided to share the other shoot that we did in conjunction with yesterday’s Modern, Geometric shoot!  Equally lovely, but with a softer, more organic flair, this shoot was a blast!  With many of the same vendors, it’s so fun to see how these artists are so versatile and make EVERY SINGLE DETAIL just stunning.  Check it out!

So PRETTY!  It’s all about the details people!

scene18

What a welcome!  Cobalt & Dash also created this AWESOME chalkboard signage and we came up with a beautiful signature beverage table, with the design expertise and florals both by Scenemakers, that really created a jaw dropping entrance to this “event”.

scene1

The signature beverage was a Rosemary Sparkling Pear Soda in a gold glitter rimmed glass garnished with a Sprig of Rosemary and Dried Pear Slice.  So fresh and delicious!  Perfect for an early morning or afternoon luncheon!

scene3

Isn’t this tablescape dreamy?  Scenemakers is AMAZING!!!  And the photographer, Jessica Peterson, offered her studio, The Charcoal Loft, as the venue and it was just the perfect blank canvas to work this magic!

scene6

A pretty plate, to say the least!  We love the mix of the vintage accented plates and the more modern charger from Diamond Rental.  Plus our up-cycled wine glass tumblers added a pop of color that was perfect in this organic color palette.

scene11new

We knew that we had to create a divine first course that matched the beauty of this shoot, and we did just that!  A Roasted White Cauliflower Crisp with Brussel Sprout Leaves, Pea Shoots and Lemon-Garlic Vinaigrette paired with a Parchment Wrapped Tomato Calamata Foccacia with an Olive Oil/ Butter Duo with Sea Salt.  YUM.

This foccacia is my FAVORITE!  It’s such a great presentation and people LOVE this special touch at the table!

scene10

I couldn’t resist sharing another pic of this STUNNING table!  And those florals that Scenemakers designed?  Drop dead GORGEOUS.

scene8

Our dessert was a personal favorite of mine.  Not only because it was delcious, but it was the CUTEST EVER!!!  Mini Sugar Cinnamon Donuts topped with a Brown Sugar Crumble served in Mini Paper Bags – yeah, I told you it was cute!

scene2

This soft, romantic invitation suite by Cobalt & Dash‘s Eleanor Kramer (who also happened to be our model for the shoot) set the mood just perfectly.  The watercolor accents are seriously amazing!

What a FANTASTIC shoot and thank you to all of the vendors who were so wonderful to work with!  The finished result was truly lovely and we are so grateful to have been asked to be a part of both of these shoots!  Happy dreaming, everyone!

Modern, Geometric Shoot at The Tasting Room

By | Culinary Crafts Events, Event Tips and Planning, Every Day Life at Culinary Crafts, Modern Wedding Style, Hot Tips for Cool Brides, Parties, Sharing the Love -Vendor and Client Relationships, The Tasting Room, Vendor Love!, Venues We Love, Wedding Trends

Today, we have a fun and flirty inspiration shoot for you all!  This oldie but a goodie is a Culinary Crafts favorite and the team at Scenemakers did an AMAZING job of designing this shoot that was fun, but still sophisticated too!  Couple that with photography by Jessica Peterson Photography and the venue, which was Culinary Crafts’s Tasting Room in downtown Salt Lake City, and you have a recipe for GORGEOUS! Check it out!

Scenemakers-Geometric-Heart-Styled-Shoot-Jessica-Peterson-Photography-24

Love the geometric hearts!  And the glitter!!!  So fun!

Scenemakers-Geometric-Heart-Styled-Shoot-Jessica-Peterson-Photography-2

How pretty is this tablescape?  I love the modern feel and how it blends with the brick walls of the Tasting Room!  Just the best setting for this afternoon luncheon.

Scenemakers-Geometric-Heart-Styled-Shoot-Jessica-Peterson-Photography-17

These menus and escort cards were PERFECT!  Saucy & Kitsch is simply the best!  Plus, aren’t the card holder’s AWESOME?!

Scenemakers-Geometric-Heart-Styled-Shoot-Jessica-Peterson-Photography-35

More glitter!  I just can’t resist a sequined table runner.  JUST. CAN’T.

Scenemakers-Geometric-Heart-Styled-Shoot-Jessica-Peterson-Photography-9

Love, love, love the florals that Scenemakers did!  And our first course, was awesome too – if you ask me, anyway! 🙂 We served a Spring Sweet Pea and Pesto Risotto topped with Tiny Asparagus Spears, a Fried Quail Egg, and Shaved Parmesan with Black Pepper Brioche.  Uh, yum!

Scenemakers-Geometric-Heart-Styled-Shoot-Jessica-Peterson-Photography-32

Scenemakers-Geometric-Heart-Styled-Shoot-Jessica-Peterson-Photography-23

Another fabulous snippet of these STUNNING florals.  Just beautiful!

  Scenemakers-Geometric-Heart-Styled-Shoot-Jessica-Peterson-Photography-21

We also served a signature beverage (of course!)  This Thyme Raspberry Cream Soda garnished with Raspberries and a Sprig of Thyme was the perfect playful drink for this shoot!  And the golden striped paper straws with the bride & groom’s names on the decorative flag was a stroke of genius!  It’s all about the details!

Scenemakers-Geometric-Heart-Styled-Shoot-Jessica-Peterson-Photography-11

And of course we had a GORGEOUS dessert to round out this pretty day!  Our Mini Pear-Vanilla Bundt Cakes topped with Meyer Lemon Whipped Curd with a slice of Preserved Pear and Candied Lemon Zest was also coupled with petite cups of coffee, perfect for this early afternoon luncheon!

Scenemakers-Geometric-Heart-Styled-Shoot-Jessica-Peterson-Photography-33

We here at Culinary Crafts LOVED this shoot – such a lovely stylized shoot with a team of fabulous professionals!  We also really love the trend of brunches and afternoon lunches for all of the light options and menu creativity that we get to explore.  Such a great day!  Happy inspiration, everyone!

Western Union Inspiration Shoot: The Food

By | Culinary Crafts Events, Every Day Life at Culinary Crafts, Modern Wedding Style, Hot Tips for Cool Brides, Parties, Sharing the Love -Vendor and Client Relationships, Vendor Love!, Wedding Trends

I know many of you remember this BEAUTIFUL inspiration shoot that Culinary Crafts did recently at the LDW Ranch.  Well, not only was the setting gorgeous, but the food, well,  it was AMAZING!  Now, I might be a bit biased, but it seriously was SO much fun to create this menu and I couldn’t help but share it with you all!  Check it out!

LDW_Food

Firstly, I have to say that creating a menu that will share such a pretty table is the bee’s knees.  MOOD Events & Scenemakers hit the design out of the park!  Love, love, love.

LDW_Food2

On to the food!  To start the cocktail hour out right, we created this artisan cheese display featuring a whole honeycomb.  I love the visual impact the honeycomb brought to this station!

LDW_Food8

We also created an assortment of savory macaroons and savory shortbreads to pair with our Tea-tini bar, which we’ll feature soon!

LDW_Food4

Isn’t this place setting pretty?  And the leather seating tags, designed by our very own Mary Crafts-Homer, were a fun keepsake!

LDW_Food3

Love the Aged Parmesan Cheese & Sun Dried Tomato Skewer with a Rosemary Sprig starter – and if that wasn’t enough – our first course was this Beef Carpaccio with Caper Berries.  Such a stunning way to kick off this meal!

LDW_Food5

What could follow that first course, you ask?  Well, this delicious Center-cut Pork Chop with Compressed Melon and Balsamic accompanied by House-made Cornbread that was baked in individual porcelain bowls.  Yum!

LDW_Food6

Lastly, the dessert!  We served a decadent Chocolate Ganache and Salted Caramel Tart that was simply to die for!  We also had the pleasure of having one of the AMAZING cakes made by One Sweet Slice (oh, how we miss them) that was simply perfect as well!

This menu was beyond perfection, just like this entire shoot!  We so enjoyed being able to join forces with some of our FAVORITE vendors and love every detail of the day!  Happy dreaming, everyone!

UBG15 Cover WinSpr 4x300 CMYK copy

The beautiful cover of the 2015 issue of Utah Bride & Groom is too lovely!  Love, love, love!

LDW_InspShoot

Isn’t this cake from One Sweet Slice stunning?  We LOVE it.  And the map design (and invitations/paper good design!) by Ann Elizabeth was perfect.  Plus, the talented photographic eye of Pepper Nix captured it all wonderfully!

LDW_InspShoot2

Some of the other vendors we got to work with were Versa Artistry, who made the models look picture-perfect, Alta Moda, who loaned us such a gorgeous bridal gown, Diamond Rental, who provided such great furnishings and linens, and Scenemakers, whose florals and design were outstanding.  But a very special thank you MUST be given to MOOD Events for their irreplaceable design work and creativity, especially Garrett Soong, who was simply instrumental in bringing this shoot to life!  We are SO beyond thrilled to have been able to create such a beautiful day and for Utah Bride & Groom for featuring it amongst such gorgeous events!  (See the online gallery with the feature here.)  And, thank you again to all of the FAB vendors who were a part of this magical day!  Make sure to pick up your copy of the magazine and see all of the beauty within!  Happy reading, everyone!

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

My family was so helpful in helping me plan for our wedding. My mom and my mother in law had so much fun wedding planning and they really made all my wedding dreams come true. My handsome groom was not very interested in all the little details so the moms, my sister to be, and I had a great time planning every last detail for the wedding. I also had so much fun with my bridal party and sharing the details of our wedding day and celebrating my shower and bachelorette with them made the whole year feel like a celebration.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

We really wanted to enjoy planning so we picked people to work with that were fun to be around. Everyone that we encountered or heard about seemed like they were so talented and great at their work, so it just came down to working with people who we clicked with. I knew we had made a good choice with our photographer, Pepper Nix, when she invited us for a beer prior to our engagement photos. It was so great to know our details were in great hands, especially being so far from our venue.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

When we found our venue, I knew immediately we were in the right spot and I wanted everything to be about the beautiful outdoors. We highlighted the beautiful scenery of the rustic ranch incorporated lace and delicate décor.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

My favorite thing about the wedding was definitely celebrating with family and friends. Even though we both knew how lucky we were to have such great friends and family before our wedding, we could not have imagined how special our wedding day would be. We were so touched and overwhelmed by how excited everyone was to celebrate with us and how much love we felt that day!

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

My advice would be to go with what makes you and your future husband feel good. It’s easy to over analyze and get caught up in the details, but everything will be perfect in its own way on your special day. We made the choice to get married half a country away from where we live, and I wouldn’t change a thing. Our friends and family were happy to see a place we loved and celebrate our love with us and that was the sweetest thing of all.

I love that Kate and her groom chose to have a destination wedding at a location that they held close to their hearts. It turned out quite gorgeous, don’t you think?”

Thank you to Every Last Detail for the beautiful post and stay tuned for more from this beauty of a wedding tomorrow!  Happy dreaming, everyone!
